Dr. Laura does it again

The very building block of Western Civilization – the nuclear family – is under attack.

It's getting "nuked" on all fronts.

Cultural terrorists seek to destroy our concept of family as a means of destroying our very way of life. To win they have to convince us the family structure, where parents are accountable to God, and children accountable to parents, is an outdated patriarchal myth. This is happening today in innumerable ways:

But they do this in another insidious way, too.

They do it by trying to persuade us that there is really no difference between men and women.

Thankfully, there are some influential people who are standing in the gap and reminding us of the truth. God made men and women different.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a voice of reason on radio, television and print. She's one of the gutsiest human beings on the planet. And she's trying to save the best of Western Civilization the only way we can – one family at a time.

At first glance, her new book, "The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands," might appear to be just another self-help book for newlyweds. Don't be fooled. This book is a blueprint for happiness, for saving our way of life.

Have you noticed how many marriages are failing today? Have you noticed how often today it is the woman in the marriage who pulls the plug?

It wasn't that long ago that most divorces were initiated by men. Today, everywhere you turn, you see women making these choices – choices that hurt them, hurt their children and irreparably hurt our society.

Dr. Laura addresses some fundamental misunderstandings that contribute greatly to this trend.

This is hardly a book that preaches subservience on the part of women. Instead, it is a book that can empower women – showing them common-sense principles that will lead to a rich contented life with their spouse.

As she puts it: "Women seem not to understand, or underestimate, the profound power they have over their husbands. Men are very emotionally dependent upon women from the day they are born to the day they expire. This book teaches women to use this power benevolently – which will definitely result in them being happier with life and love."

Why am I – a man – writing about a book geared for women?

Because I want to validate everything that she writes in her book – and only a man can do that.

I believe if millions of women tried the simple, tried-and-true techniques outlined in this book, the result would be immeasurable happiness. The result would be a divorce rate slashed dramatically. The result would be a stronger and freer America.

More marriages = less crime. How many married men steal, rape, and murder? There are other benefits to marriage as well. Liberals don't like to talk about the institution cause they've been brainwashed by the feminazis and heterophobes into believing its an oppressive, chauvinist, and heterosexist institution - one hopelessly out of date with the times.

Old joke from a priest:

Woman decides to get a divorce but she wants to make sure her husband is going to suffer with her absense. She she starts to be really nice to him. She cooks his favorite dinners, cleans house, and starts acting really friendly. All the time she is thinking, "he is going to be sorry when I am gone." The proces continues for a month, then two, then three.

After the third month her lawyer calls her to find out what happened to her client. The wife tell the lawyer she changed her mind. A miracle happened and her husband just spontaneously became the man she wanted and was when they got married.

This article is off by a little bit. For at least the last 30 years it is women who file for divorce in 70% of the cases.

Part of the problem in "repairing" marages is the so called couselor industry which have been trained in the very methods that have destroyed womanhood in the first place.

Could this be the start of a woman oriented promise keeper movement?

I have already heard that some women are condemning this book as a "just give him sex" solution.

I saw the Dr. Laura interview on Hanity and Colms. He one anecdote said it best, "a woman caller could not understand why her husband could not accept a complete absence of sex in their marriage." I paraphrase.

That woman knows nothing about men. Nothing.

Married men (if not deprived by a "strong career woman"), work hard to support a wife and children, some working two and three jobs to pay the bills, that is before women were encouraged to insist that the father of their children "share in parenting", i.e. changing diapers and bathing babies, which takes men out of the work force to do parenting jobs. This also requires mothers to be in the work force replacing their husbands in supporting the family.

Wives used to work to supplement the family income after the children were in school full time. This income was once considered extra income for vacations, higher education, etc. Now it is considered as "necessary" for soccer expenses, more expensive homes/cars, second homes, trips to Europe, college tuition (which is considered something that parents must provide to their children, who being kept much too busy with soccer and other after school activities, have no time to work and save for their own college)etc.

Absolutely PATHETIC -- This is 2004 and we have talk show hosts having to "educate" about such obvious points. NOW LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I would have no trouble abstaining from sex with that woman were she my exwife.

Husbands should NEVER be substitute girlfriends. I think too many women emphasize friendship and not the intimacy in the marriage. Without intimacy, or the promise of it, she never would have given him a second glance to begin with.

You are sooo smart. Extra money could be had by writing your own book!

LOL Well here it is, the book that's going to save the American family. "The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands"

The title is like that of a book to take care of one's new puppy. The title seems consistent with all the other degraded analogies of men in our modern feminist culture. Should sell well with American women.

There is another option men are increasingly choosing, finding their wives in other non-feminist cultures and countries, were women are interested in a marriage that is a union, not a partnership.

Date locally, marry globally.

Agree with everything you said except for that last line.

Since Big Brother government entered the education funding picture with taxpayer-funded loans and grants, the price of a college education has skyrocketed.

There's almost no way a kid can earn enough money to pay for a college education anymore.

Sure, there are community colleges that are cheaper than private schools -- but many are not too good. Our local community college course catalogue is stuffed with the most idiotic class offerings you can imagine.

And without intimacy (read sex) or the promise of it, HE would never have wasted his time with her either.
