Dallas Morning Snooze confirms
Court OKs Texas redistricting
01:56 PM CST on Tuesday, January 6, 2004
Associated Press
AUSTIN — A three-judge federal panel on Tuesday approved a Republican-backed redistricting map designed to bolster the GOP's strength in Texas' congressional delegation.
The decision, which comes after a December trial, was a blow to Democrats who have worked for the better part of the year to block the GOP's efforts.
The map could put as many as seven additional Republicans in Texas' congressional delegation, in which Democrats currently hold a 17-15 advantage.
Republicans, who hold every statewide office in Texas and control the state House and Senate, have a majority in Congress.

GREAT!!!!
I was just at a Republican club meeting (here in Austin) where Greg Abbott was speaking and the news hadnt come in yet. It was a bit worrying that the court was taking so long, he expected it by new years... I guess it took a while to write the opinions.

Rush said the Bush domestic doctrine is based on obliterating the democrat party as a political entity. Seems like they are now officially on life support in TX and FL as far as state legislatures and congressional districts are concerned.
