Rush said the Bush domestic doctrine is based on obliterating the democrat party as a political entity. Seems like they are now officially on life support in TX and FL as far as state legislatures and congressional districts are concerned.

Right. This killed the white Democrat liberal coalition candidates. Lloyd Doggett in 10CD was like that too. they paired the liberals in central austin with hispanic and black voters. Now the hispanics in austin are in a minority district that goes south to the border. Most of Austin are in Lamar Smith's CD or 10th CD.

The Democrats must be melancholy with this ruling; however, they have a "Republican" ace in their hole: Sandra Day O'Connor.

And a few days ago, Democrat Congressman Ralph Hall switched to the Republican Party.

This is a great Day for Texas.

Hey, do you have one of the runaways pics? especially the one where they are mocking the Reps with socks on their hands?

Let this be a lesson to you dirty work shucking Dems.

So nice to see after such a long fight. It is nice to have proof that Texas Republicans do have cojones. (I think we also discovered who doesn't have any...people who flee the state rather than perform the duties they were elected to perform.)

Good job Gov Perry and Mr Cornyn.

Perry was relentless.

I'm not sure Bush, with all the "buddies" he'd made in the Democrat legislature, would have forced three special sessions, with all the resultant negative howling from the liberal Texas press.

Perry could be somebody's VP choice down the road.

Wow. Imagine that. A court that came to the correct decision!

That's cuz TX isn't in the jurisdiction of the 9th Circus.

Here is a link to a .pdf of the decision. Ping it around. (I don't know how to ping "all" who've posted on a thread, or if it's even possible.)

"Perry could be somebody's VP choice down the road."

He would get my vote, he is tough. If he runs for Gov i predict a landslide.

Time to peak in over at DUmmyland for some delicious Schadenfreude.

Don't bother. Most of the responses seem to be of the "But what about ..." variety. The Kool-Aid is still taking effect (or the D-Con is still taking effect).

I don't have a ping list either, so I'll draw the "pingers" to post #56.
