Good job Gov Perry and Mr Cornyn.

Perry was relentless.

I'm not sure Bush, with all the "buddies" he'd made in the Democrat legislature, would have forced three special sessions, with all the resultant negative howling from the liberal Texas press.

Perry could be somebody's VP choice down the road.

He would get my vote, he is tough. If he runs for Gov i predict a landslide.

Talk about a turnaround for a politician. Repubs went from hating Perry for the hate crimes bill and holding their nose and voting for him in '02, to hailing his bravery during the redistricting fight. Perry had about 999 chances to buckle under the pressure from the press and the Dem racket, but he stood firm.

He's earned my respect.
