Good morning, HJ! An excellent idea!! And it's a straight shot from my house to the office. Hopefully I'll be home tonight before the really bad gusts start. Sometimes you can freeze just crossing the parking lot. The ears take quite a beating.

If I could, I wouldn't even go to work!!
Then again, living here in the sunny Sonoran Desert, I rarely have to worry about wind chills below, say, 25oF!
Kathy and most of our regulars know they have a standing invitation to come down here and warm up if they need to!

thank you Diva for a nice history lesson. It plays an important part in the good word as well.
Well, we are experiencing the dramatic weather change as many of you are. We are suppose to be heading into the teens tonight. Yeah, I know Ma would probably call me little sissy or spoiled bratt given the temps she has to deal with, but...dang it......I DON'T LIKE COLD WEATHER! 
Ok, I see we've had a name change which I don't see the big deal cause I've always called this place THE CANTEEN or THE FREE REPUBLIC CANTEEN. So, new bookcover but same story! You betcha! So, everyone find a spot around the fire and let the stories, music, singing, jokes, and just plain kidding, oh, food is welcomed as well, begin......
