For some reason they have changed their mind.
It is an election year and there have always been those opposed to President Bush in the Canteen.
Now those same people will dislike the Canteen even more.
What does matter is that active duty FReepers come to the Canteen daily.

If it's true, a simple answer might have been that the USO did give permission and it has since been rescinded. Who are you saying dislikes President Bush, me, Sam, the USO? Be clear.

So what does this have to do with the USO? You are not being clear.

People now are considering not contributing to the USO and I don't want to see that.

The USO really does support our troops and I hate to see people get the wrong idea about them as an organization who does good things for our troops.

Who cares? Apparantly people here care because they think we are being "wronged" by the USO. I don't think that is true and I think we should be clear so people do not decide to take away support for the real USO.

I don't know about you, but I was only told by one person that permission was given and at the time I never doubted it.

If they changed they mind, it'd be nice to know the reason. If they didn't give permission, it's not fair to have people slamming the USO no becuase the name was used without authorization..

Now that's the point I was trying to make. People are starting to slam or be concerned about the USO and that's not right. I think it should be clear why they don't want their name used anymore.

It does matter what it was called because if it was unauthorized it looks bad.

Yeah the goal was to support our troops but not with something based on lies.
