Terri Schiavo update: Judge Baird's is OFF case.

This is a Hospice Patients Alliance Special Update Jan 5, 2004, sent out periodically to inform the public about news affecting hospice and end-of-life care.

We have just confirmed that ALL of Judge Baird's cases, INCLUDING the suit by Michael Schiavo v Gov Bush related to the Terri's Law, challenging its constitutionality, HAVE been transferred to Judge Nelly Khouzam. This information came directly from Judge Khouzam's assistant. Judge Khouzam is known to be a "by the book" tough, but fair judge.

The court is NOT explaining why the judges were suddenly switched, except to say that "judges rotate from time to time." We believe it might have something to do with:

Local PINELLAS COUNTY COURT BAILIFFS AND COURT EMPLOYEES WERE TAKING BETS ON WHETHER TERRI WOULD DIE OR NOT!!!

It was widely reported that Judge Baird made reckless and prejudicial comments in support of Greer and Felos and against Jeb's lawyers way before he had heard the evidence from the Governor's attorneys.

In other words, Judge Baird's comments are the likely reason local Pinellas County employees were doing "inside betting" that the local Pinellas County Judges would back each other's poor and constitutionally illegal decisions against Terri's constitutional rights and thus overrule Jeb Bush and Terri's Law. The 6th Circuit Judges are upset to have anyone tell them they are morally and legally wrong...... whether it's constitutionally illegal or not to murder Terri.

Conducting inside betting on the case is a severe violation of the code of conduct for court employees! Whether that is, or is not, the reason the judges have been switched, the very important change in judge can be extremely significant to what happens to Terri. We are hoping that Judge Khouzam will give the Gov a fair hearing in the case and allow the discovery he sought (which was denied by Baird). If Judge Khouzam allows some discovery as requested by Gov Bush, it could make all the difference!

The rally at the courthouse complex is tomorrow and the next day. WE ARE STILL PUMPED UNTIL TERRI IS OUT OF HARM'S WAY. I don't care what the death squad posts on Terri's threads. They are losing badly and are wasting their keystrokes.

Not necessary........her supervisor testified. Hardly credible if these incidents were not a part of the chart or reported to anyone in charge.

Our side can do filings with various appeals courts. In other words, at least they had the right to shop around and file appeals in various appeals courts throughout the state. It does not necessarily have to be the 2nd DCA.

There are so many motions - Jeb's Legal Counsel could do motions to re-open, motion to set aside what Baird did, try to do discovery AGAIN and launch an investigation AGAIN.

Notice that Felos is not holding any more press conferences. It's been so pleasant not to see him or Michael on my tv set in quite some time. Felos can go milk goats back in Greece and Michael can go directly to jail along with most of the 6th Circuit Court of Pinellas County. They lurk at free republic and possibly post here.

Felos should take the money you already got and run like the wind or maybe Michael Schiavo should SUE FELOS FOR MALPRACTICE, get money back and give it to the Schindlers. That's my thoughts on the matter.

I so hope that Michael Schiavo can't take the pressure and GIVES UP. Imagine the kind of pressure he's under every single day.

Freepers in other states helped locals.

Here's why. Attorney Pat Anderson held a press conference during the time that Terri was refused admittance to Morton Plant Hospital which is why freepers did an emergency call to action thread. Thanks go to freepers not on scene for their immediate response on 10-21-03. They contacted Non-freepers who went into action themselves. Then, the Beltway found out, including PRESIDENT BUSH. (he was out of the country at the time).

So, I'm going to believe a supervisor who has more to lose than a nurse? Yeah, right... The nursing director at Hospice was directing the police at Hospice. Not just security purposes, ACTUALLY DIRECTING THEM as if she was their supervisor. Maybe you should have been there on October 21st instead of Bushnell. You missed what the cops shared with the crowd.

Please note that, msmagoo, the cops were taking orders from the nursing director and it wasn't just re: crowd control. It was the life and death stuff. It was over Holy Communion. The ever present cop in Terri's room mocked her mom for putting lip gloss on her lips.
