Clark Regrets Potshot at Draft-Dodging Ski Bum Dean

Breaking News from NewsMax.com

Wesley Clark is sorry he made fun of Democrat rival Howard Dean for dodging the draft and skiing with a "back injury" while Clark recovered from wounds suffered in the Vietnam War. Really he is.

"I didn't have as much practice skiing as the governor did. He was out there skiing when I was recovering from my wounds in Vietnam," Clark said in November on WNTK radio in Manchester, N.H.

But the retired general told Tim Russert on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday: "Let's put it in context, Tim. I was asked in a radio call-in about having a skiing contest with Governor Dean, and sometimes, as you understand - I mean, politics is easy, but humor is tough.

"That was an attempt at a little bit of humor that some people didn't laugh at.

Oh, don't be so modest. We bet that Karl Rove is still laughing.

Then Clark lobbed yet another stink bomb at Dean: "He made his decision. He'll take responsibility for it."

End News Max comments.

Little Wesley probably had a foggy moment when he remembered this...........

Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964, accepting all contractual conditions of registering for the draft. Given Selective Service Number 3 26 46 228.

Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968.

Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969.

Bill Clinton dishonored order to report and is not inducted into the military. Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States Army Reserves on August 07,1969 under authority of Col. E. Holmes. Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment.

Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of Arkansas ROTC, September 1969. Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) 'registrant who has failed to report...remain liable for induction'.

Bill Clinton's birth date lottery number is 311, drawn December 1,1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction is INELIGIBLE!

Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from justice under Public Law 90-40.

Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976), while a fugitive from justice.

Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977, from Carter.

Bill Clinton FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON ever to serve as President.

All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws, and various books that have been published, and have not been refuted by Clinton.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six and injured 1,000; President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, that killed five U.S. military personnel, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept those promises, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, D.C. that are now dead would be alive today.

AN INTERESTING QUESTION: This question was raised on a Philly radio call-in show. Without casting stones, it is a legitimate question. There are two men, both extremely wealthy. One develops relatively cheap software and gives billions of dollars to charity. The other sponsors terrorism. That being the case, why was it that the Clinton Administration spent more money chasing down Bill Gates over the eight years in office, than Osama bin-Laden?

>

THINK ABOUT IT! It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from two people who spent 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath!

In a reply to Clark, Dean commiserated with Clark.....

"Wes, it wasn't all fun on those slopes, you know.
I got windburn, sunburn and a sprained ankle when I slipped getting out of a hot tub.
And whereas you were getting paid and all your food and medical treatment for free, I had to pay a pretty penny from what my dad loaned to me for my mountain campaign!"

I think the comment was funny and fitting. I don't like Clark, but you have to give some respect to someone who's served his country for that long. Dean doesn't even have that.

BTW, what do Cinton and Bush have in common? They were both AWOL from their reserve obligation and had enough connections to have it swept aside!

George Bush was not AWOL. That has been explained about a gazillion times on this site.

I don't really think you two are in the right place. I suggest Democrat Underground for a more fitting site on whicih to spend your time.

Check out your facts before you post, please, so you don't make yourselves look stupid.

You're not at the DU. We know the truth around here.

I still haven't seen any convincing evidence that he was present at his duty station during the questioned time. He also lost his flight status, something that usually requires an investigation, and nothing happened.

You two DUpes are wrong about Bush being AWOL. Take a look at past FR threads about the "Bush AWOL" theories, which were debunked.

Thanks for the ping! Much appreciated -- would much rather have a ping then miss something -- besides I love reading the other replies.

Saw that in my AOL Update Mail -- I believe Clark like I believe pigs can fly. I noticed he received publicity when he first opened his mouth about Dean and is now receiving publicity for saying it was a bad joke. Reminds me of the Clintons -- believe that Hillary is directly behind Clark and the picture showing him as her puppet is right on the mark.

Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977, from Carter.

Wow...I did not know it was Carter's fault.

Look it up yourself, why should anyone waste their time arguing with someone who is willfully ignorant of the facts?

Here's what I found:

"In August Bush missed his annual flight physical and was grounded. (Some have speculated that he was worried about failing a drug test--the Pentagon had instituted random screening in April.) In September he was ordered to report to a different unit of the Alabama guard, the 187th Tactical Reconnaissance Group in Montgomery. Bush says he did so, but his nominal superiors say they never saw the guy, there's no documentation he ever showed up, and not one of the six or seven hundred soldiers then in the unit has stepped forward to corroborate Bush's story."

IIRC, Bush's people put up a reward for anyone who remembered him there, but no one stepped up. That's because he wasn't there. BTW, Bush's initial excuse for missing the flight physical was because he couldn't get to his family doctor to do it. This explanation was retracted quickly, I guess because someone told his handlers that family doctors do not perform flight physicals.

Of Carter's pardons that I have found online, you would think a future president of the US would be mentioned everywhere, but I only found these notables:

Vietnam draft resisters (Carter, 1977; amnesty)
G. Gordon Liddy (Carter, 1977; commuted sentence for Watergate break-in in 1972)
Irving Flores Rodriguez, Lolita Lebron, and Rafael Cancel-Miranda (Carter, 1979; clemency for machine-gunning the U.S. House of Representatives and wounding five Congressmen in 1954)
Oscar Collazo (Carter, 1979; clemency for attempting to assassinate President Truman in 1950)
Patricia Hearst (Carter, 1979; commuted sentence for armed robbery)
Peter Yarrow (Carter, 1981; clemency for a sexual offence in 1969)

Can anybody verify Clinton's pardon?

I'm with you Eva. The proof has been posted repeatedly here on FR. It's willful anti-Bush ignorance to not know the facts after all this time.

I've read the true account, anti. Do a search yourself if you really care about knowing what it is.

You can believe what you want. I doubt I could change your opinion. Your info is most likely from one of the many throngs of leftist sites that perpetuate the lying AWOL myth.

President Bush earned an Honorable Discharge. That is a fact you cannot dispute.
