Funkles are usually declared when I get up from my computer. I think a light goes on (or off) or something. ;)
However, even with the state-of-the-art advanced warning system, it's difficult to predict how long I'll be away from the computer. LOL

UGH! I gotta go pay bills. Be back laters....
To: Fawnn
I wanted to ask you about your parents' doberman who could say "outside."
What did it sound like?
Sometimes they have a talking dog on Animal Planet's Funniest Animals, and it's hilarious. They usually say easy words like "mama" but "outside" is difficult.
My Bulldog is almost 7 and last week he barked to come inside for the first time in his life. We were shocked.
He usually just sits at the door and waits, no matter how hot or cold it is, so we are in the habit of telling each other "Feji's out" everytime one of lets him out so we won't forget him.
Don't think he is going to turn into a talking dog.

It really sounded like a whining "outside." Phonetically, I suppose it may have been more like "owt-shide."
(I wonder if mom ever recorded it? I'll have to ask. Sadly, Sheba's been gone for probably 12 years now.)
On family get-together days, she'd go to the window and check when you'd ask her "Is Dennis here yet?" If the car wasn't there, she'd start whining and walk over to you with what was left of her tail drooping, expecting sympathy.

"Owt-shide" is terrific! All dogs are special in their own way, but Sheba sounds exceptional. Wish I had known her.
Never met a dog I didn't like. Not only wonderful companions, but so much fun to hang around with. Keep me laughing all the time.
