Still this ties in the stories before Christmas about a potential female suicide bomber, and we know al Qaeda is fond of completing a mission that was not accomplished to their satisfaction so D.C. as a target is most certainly believable.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't plastic explosive pretty much inert without a firing mechanism of some sort. If so, she could pack as much as she likes up there, but without a trigger she's just got a .... oh never mind.

We cannot defend against this, except maybe with those body scan x-ray things that Drudge was whining about a few months ago.

What sucks is that if a terrorist is ever successful at a plot like this, we will never know about it. We will just know that a plane crashed.

Unless of course, 3 or 4 of them crashed at the same time. That is the only way the media will be unable to make their standard "no connection to terrorism" disclaimer five minutes after the event.
