I feel bad for this young fellow, but his mother frightens me. And think, she's got six other children, and is about to get a Ph.D. in B*llsh*t.
I knew dredlocks were filthy, I didn't realize they could be so dangerous.
Can we peg this an "Only in California, kiddos, only in California!" to paraphrase Cindy Adams?

No, it was utter stupidity. I like this quote: "We learned not to use (gasoline) in a closed space,"
How about "We learned that gasoline does not make good shampoo"? Or a "Duh" alert? Sheesh...
How about "We learned you shouldn't have gasoline near an open flame."?

Wow, bummer for tribal medicine. I guess they don't sell Rid at every drug store out there? And like it wouldn't be easier and cheaper than going to the ER? Or pouring gas on your head? Sheesh.

I was a young Air Force dependent living in a housing area just outside of Clark Air Base in the Phillipines, 1965. I recall watching some of the local kids getting their heads shaved and an application of gasoline rubbed into their bald heads to kill the lice. That scene has always remained with me, especially anytime I read or hear anything about lice. MoodyBlu
What a coincidence! I too was a young AF dependent (9 y.o.) in 1965, probably living in the SAME housing complex you mentioned. I too remember the SAME thing about kids with lice. And on top of that, I love your user name: MoodyBlu....The MB's has always and forever will be my all time favorite group! It's nice "freeping" with you. Regards.

"If I could have remembered what to do quicker maybe he wouldn't have been burned so bad." If she wasn't such a stupid idiot, he wouldn't have been burned at all.

"Imagine loving your long hair so much that you wouldn't cut it off even when it's filled with lice."
That's almost as bad as taking away Michael Jackson's lipstick!

Just Damm! Now I think the dreads would grow back but I guess Mama being stupid is forever! Liberals are amazingly dumb and what is Transformative Education?

"Medical staff talked of a prescription medicine, but because there are dangers, it was not prescribed.
"
I don't believe this at all... there's OTC preparations to take care of lice. It doesn't have to be prescribed.

His right hand, which sustained fourth-degree burns, was so badly damaged doctors had to amputate all his fingers.
Wow...he was so badly injured, they created a whole NEW Burn level for him!
3rd Degree are the top of the scale, for those who don't know.
I award a Darwin to the REPORTER! Nice Fact-Checking!
Nzinga said nothing was on in the kitchen, but somehow the pilot light on the stove flared, sending enough of a spark to set Koran's head ablaze.
These morons aren't aware that the Gas fumes caught from the PILOT o the stove?!
Seems Koran Akindele Jenkin's now just another "Candle in the Wind"!

Lice have developed resistance to medication. The only way to get rid of them is to comb thouroughly two or three times a day with one of those fine-tooth, two sided ACE brand combs for several days, wash all linen in hot water, and take your kids out of public school.
