FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TASK FORCE ALL AMERICAN SOLDIERS CONFISCATE WEAPONS
AR RAMADI, Iraq The 82nd Airborne Division and its subordinate units, also known as Task Force All American, continued missions Thursday to capture enemy personnel who continue violence against coalition forces and the people of Al Anbar.
During the last 24 hours, the 82nd Airborne Division and subordinate elements conducted 151 patrols, nine of which were joint patrols with Iraqis, and carried out four cordon and searches. During these operations, 78 enemy personnel were captured. Entry was denied to 105 personnel at the border crossing at Trebil all due to insufficient documentation.
In 3rd Brigades area, paratroopers conducted a series of cordon and searches in Mahmudiyah, Iskandariyah, and Fallujah. The operations resulted in the capture of 45 enemy personnel, which include 12 targeted-individuals. Soldiers confiscated 50 lbs. of TNT, 41 RPG rounds, 100 blasting caps, two RPG launchers, a 23mm cannon, grenades, several machine guns, 12 IEDs rigged for detonation, ten small arms weapons, and IED-making materials.
In 1st Brigades area, soldiers conducted a cordon and search in southern Ar Ramadi to kill or capture associates of Abu Mohammed. The operation resulted in the capture of five enemy personnel and the confiscation of three cell phones and some small arms weapons.
Task Force All American escorted 35 fuel trucks from Trebil to the Al Anbar Fuel Depot. The Al Anbar Trucking Company continues to increase their effectiveness and moved a variety of materials throughout the area. The Task Force employed 104 Iraqis and used five contracted trucks yesterday to help remove the large store of Captured Enemy Arms in the area. The combined effort resulted in the safe evacuation of 45 short tons of munitions.
Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment, and the 1st Infantry Division continue to work with the people of Al Anbar to secure a safe environment.
