This coming from a guy who probably never saw a black person until he was in his 20s.

Oh, Dean wants to educate us "white folk" now. I don't know which is more outrageous: The blatant racism of that statement or the fact that he can't see the blatant racism of that statement.
Come on Rats put up a fight anyway before you lose. This is ridiculous.

Because nobody has as much experience associating with and befriending black Americans as Howard Dean, what with his diverse life experience and time spent out in the Hamptons, on the ski slopes in Aspen, up there in Vermont, etc. etc.

I think its about educating black folks to be good, productive Americans and not a dependent underclass.
But that's just from looking at the evidence. Dean isn't allowed to do that.

"Dealing with race is about educating white folks." -Dean ...... and this is why Howie Dean? are you suggesting that Black Folks just can't be educated or that they don't need to be educated or what exactly does this mean?

There appears to be some sort of magnetic attraction between Dean's foot and his mouth. I keeps happening again and again.

I guess I have to disagree with the good doctor (shock!). I think blacks have much more effect on the success of blacks than do whites. For instance, if the African-American community didn't (in general) diss education and blame others for their pathologies, worked hard in school and took more responsibility for themselves, I think they would be much more successful in schools, colleges, and business. There are many successful middle and upper class blacks who have proved it, and kudos to them for their accomplishments.

I think its about educating black folks to be good, productive Americans and not a dependent underclass. And I think you should know what you're talking about before you speak. 75% of American blacks are middle-class and above.
Sure, there is an underclass in this demographic. Then again, there's one in the white demographic, too.
That you would say this in regards to the whole about black people says more about you than you think.

While the Republicans have baldly capitulated to racism in modern presidential campaigns, such as appearing at Bob Jones University and claiming we are so close to a "colorblind" society that affirmative action programs can be dismantled since so many minorities are appointed by Republican Administrations, while Democratic politicians have thwarted Republican minority appointments.

I see the sarcasm as the total Black population of Vermont is less than 5000 persons; But, in reality, maybe there is some sort of bizaare psychology in Dean's head that causes him to overreact with Black audiences with a "some of my best friends are black" mentality.

"Dealing with race is about educating white folks," Dean said I'm "white", and I'm deeply offended.
Who's going to "teach me", Dean?
Who's the person "smarter than me"?
Because I'm white, I'm "stupid??? "
Sniff,sniff. Bush landslide in 2004.

I can see it now,"DEAN'S BOOK OF QUOTES"!Only a cheap desperate person would make a comment like this because whites are getting da*n tired of taking the blame for the irresponsible minorities.
