The primary in Iowa is in 18 days - I don't think there is enough time left for Gephardt to come from behind and win.

Remember the Democrats in Iowa are super liberal, and they will turn out in force for Howie.

The more liberal Dean is the more the Dem Primary voters eat of his hand.

Unless Dean admits to being a pedophile, I don't see how Dean can lose Iowa.

Yeah, but Gepharts' gonna get the blue collar union votes no matter who their bosses endorse. I think it will be close. We'll see.

Well, if he was a Marine, he must be well suited to be standby equipment to the president. Some of those boards he is on these days however don't sound very blood and guts to me. One of them had the word "humanitarian" in it. I only really trust the "humanitarianism" of Neos. Sorry about that. :)

If that happens, it means that the Dems will be ripping themselves apart for most of the year, and that a reconciliation behind the eventual winner will be very late, causing many Dems to be still PO'ed at the winner (whoever he is) come November.

I expect this to happen anyway. There are lots of Democratic voters out there who are barely even paying attention right now as the hate-powered far left is taking over their presidential nomination process. When they wake up and see who they've got representing them (assuming Dean gets the brass ring), they're not going to be happy. It may not cause a public rift, but the result will be the same, with millions staying home, voting third party or becoming Bush Democrats. And that will have coattails for House and Senate races.

I'd love to see O'Reilly slapped down, as much as I enjoy seeing Brit flatten Juan Williams!!

Bring 'em on.

Last I heard, Gephardt and Dean were statistically tied in Iowa.

The Undecideds are going to swing to Dean and push him over the top.

Gephardt is so well known in Iowa that he should have support above the mid/low 20's - but he doesn't in any poll that I've seen.

Dean will win if even half the undecideds break his way.

**"So is Lincoln in Arkansas and Murray in Washington."

Lincoln is safe, Murray is not.**

I would love to see Murray lose.

And if Wyden would lose in Oregon -- oh, what a miracle!

That would be wonderful for Arizona!

We will all have to work hard for this!

"I would love to see Murray lose."

The National GOP is mega-pumped up about taking down Murray - apparently their polling indicates she is vulnerable.

**Another thing to remember is that we will probably get Jeffords and Ben Nelson to switch to the GOP if we get 55 or more Senate seats.**

Why would we want Jeffords? He would only be a RINO!

**Although I did enjoy the show immensely, I felt they should have mentioned that Minnesota has trended Republican since going for Gore in 2000. Republican Governor now (Pawlenty) and Senator (Coleman).**

Agree with you here. They just mentioned MN is passing.

I was also disappointed that they didn't mentioned SD.

We only need Jeffords to always vote for cloture because we are going to add 5 Conservatives to the Senate, and thus negating the strength of the RINOs.

** And that will have coattails for House and Senate races.**

The panel today did mention this.....that if Bush wins BIG there will be BIG coattails for other offices -- especially in the South. They mentioned (and this is new to me.) that Southerners are voting more straight ticket than in the past.

Southerners -- is this true?

What percentage of the democrat base makes up the Dean "hate-America" crowd? Maybe a third? A half? I have been curious a how the democrats are going to "come to their senses". I am not sure there are enough moderate democrats out there in the base that vote in primaries.

The news of Senator Jim Holt running against her has been around since back in September. He officially launched his candidacy in November. He is a member of the Arkansas legislature.
