I must admit that I cannot stand the weekend edition of Fox and Friends. Mike Jerrick rarely contributes to the discussion, and that leaves Juliet argueing with Julian Phillips most of the program. Julian uses "Katie Couric" language such as "some feel" or "most feel." I hear Julian dance around the actual subject and attempt to make himself look neutral only then to parrot the liberal line.

Julian will say something like this "You know some feel and I think I gotta agree with Dean. This capture of Saddam really hasn't made us any safer." By starting with "some feel" its as if he's quoting some anonymous group. Contrast that to the three hosts who work during the week. Why just this morning I heard Steve, E.D., and Brian talking about the White House Christmas party.

Steve:
"You know we got the meet the Vice President."

E.D.:
"We couldn't figure out what to get the Vice President."

Steve:
"No gifts over 20 bucks right?"

E.D.:
"Right. Nothing over 20 bucks. So we got him a 20 dollar gift certificate to Joe's pizza down in Crawford."

Steve:
"Ha! You gave that to a guy with a heart condition?"

E.D.:
"I know. We started to feel really bad when we realized this. But when we were able to give it to him he said it was the best gift he could have gotten. He loved it!"

Steve:
"I stood in line and got to meet the Vice President as well. We got to take a picture with him. When I got up to the front of the line I told him that I thought this was the line to meet Santa?!??!"

E.D.:
"Oh No! What did he say?"

Steve:
"He laughed. He told me that I could have anything I wanted this year."

And E.D. ends the segment with a BANG!

E.D.:
"Its not Dick Cheney that does that. Its Congress!!!!!"

I hope you're right. But, the lunatics that are the terrorists don't think like you & me. The only way to get their attention is much more direct than getting SH (who they had no real love for anyhow) like taking out OBL and his inner circle. Even then there are probably a lot of waana bes that would love to fill his shoes.

Yes, as a matter of fact it did---and I use it to keep as many annoying things out of my life as possible--starting with tv. You can't imagine how wonderful life is without listening to idiots blather all day. (Listening to people carp about what they are hearing seems a waste of time to me)

I have no idea what leads you to that (mistaken) conclusion. Unless Dean is for sending all illegals home. And yes I am a Freeper, and get really tired of other Freepers that jump to conclusions about others everytime a post is made they don't like. I just don't think SH was that great of a threat to begin with. He was a threta to Iraqis, but not to much else since Desert Storm.

That's a false issue to raise. Libs say it as if the administration characterized the capture as making us safer, when they did not. In fact, as usual, President Bush took pains to say that Iraq was still dangerous and terrorism still a threat.

The only reason to present the statement that the capture of Saddam Hussein has not made us safer is to minimize the capture itself.

Pathetic whining with no comprehension of--or a refusal to acknowledge--who Saddam Hussein was.

According to Berlusconi, Gaddafi told him that he saw what happened to Saddam, which scared him, and that's why he is cooperating with the US.

Attacks against our troops have decreased.

That's two right there. Who knows what info Saddam will eventually give up.

The terrorists are still out there. Al Queda still exists (SH's ties to AQ are still in question). The islamic fundamentalists (radicals) are still out there hating the US and Isreal. We just went to Orange.
How are the haters of liberty in the mid east a threat to us, if not through terrorism? I'm very glad SH is no longer at large, but don't think he had any major role in international terrorism.

Saddam Hussein's army can no longer attack or threaten it's neighbors, which would pull us into the conflict. He can no longer meddle into the politics of Iran, Pakistan, Saudi, or the smaller arab states, where we have a stake.

Saddam Hussein's worldwide assets, billions of dollars, is no longer available to finance terrorists, or build weapons.

Saddam's regime can no longer sanction terrorism or export it to our shores.

Saddam's imperial image has been damaged beyond repair. His cowardly capture will hurt recruitment of martyrs.

The end of Saddam signals a new beginning for Iraq, and hopefully for decades to come, one less middle eastern country will hate us enough to try and destroy us.

After even democrats so roundly discredited and mocked Dean for saying the world isn't safer without Saddam, you can assume people here would be incredulous anyone would repeat it.
