Return of the Special Forces (In other words, no more sitting ducks)
Pittsburgh Tribune Review ^ | 12/21/03 | Ralph R. Reiland

The real story in Saddam's capture is that the Bush administration has turned loose the Special Forces to fight a covert, no-holds-barred war in Iraq.

"A revitalized Special Forces mission is a policy victory for Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld, who has struggled for two years to get the military leadership to accept the strategy of what he calls 'Manhunts' -- a phrase that he has used both publicly and in internal Pentagon communications," writes Seymour Hersh in The New Yorker's Dec. 15 issue. "According to American and Israeli military and intelligence officials, Israeli commandos and intelligence units have been working closely with their American counterparts at the Special Forces training base at Fort Bragg, N.C., and in Israel to help them prepare for operations in Iraq."

Have another from D. R.

I listened to "The Summer Wind" by Frank Sinatra to sooth my nerves. ;)

To be honest, I thought if I got on FR, Hillary and her ghouls would come and get me for what I was thinking and saying about her and The Bent One. Now, I am not so afraid. But I must say, I really was hoping some one would have knocked her and her broomstick out of the air coming back from Iraq, though!

Say no more. If she ever gets in the White House, the "little FR problem" will probably be high of her task list vis a vis the Patriot Act.

"FISA court? Who needs a f***ing FISA court?!"

Bqathist Iraq was a near perfect fascist governent, aka criminally corrupt socialist: up to 90% of its population were and still are fed with ration card monthly supplies of staples such as cooking oil, flour, etc. For 35 years, Iraqis have been made to be helpless and totally dependent on government, like France is becoming.

Most basic industry was State owned or owned by Sddamn's family or tribe. It still is and will remain so.

There are millions of Sunni who know that their only prayer to live is to win dominance by force of arms. Those arms are all over the place in bunkers and homes AND spider holes. Some are killing and maiming our boys.

Our offensive lull has certainly been for training SF and SF Lite to take out the trash. 'We can't handle the truth.'? Our efforts need to get effective which translates into industrial strength liquidations, worldwide.

Given that islam is a death cult (just read their koran and haddith - their battle plan), we must walk softly, but carry the biggest sticks and let their survivors know that we have the will to use them. THER PROBLEM is if we're nuked or poxed. Who do we vaporize? The Dem-5th Column, if winning control again, would open our nation up to attacks and police state martial law. Imagine Mt. Carmel-Waco 1993 with the Patriot Act's hammer and the SCOTUS attempt the void our Ratified Constitution.

We'll have to fight this perpetual war. The majority of Americans will be "free riders" and a minority ranting that we are murderers unwilling to to have internationized trials for the accused. Our 5th Column says we shouldn't be engaged in war. They'll perish along side our loved ones if we do not take care of business, everyday.

Thank God Almighty that we have warriors with the will to protect our Constitutional Republic against enemies foreign and domestic. This Terror War is everywhere that islamists are able to live. We must see that they can't live, however it is accomplished and listen to our 5th Column whine.

Our children's children future shall only be secured by force of arms and Grace.

Re: "The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his."

And that sums up the Phoenix Program in Vietnam...

"The object of war, is not to die for your country but to make the other Bastard to die for his!"

Another Patton classic! (I love his short, humorous wit)

The terrorists have not idea what they are in for. The SF Brotherhood will deal with them in the only language they understand. They are used to targeting innocent, easy victims and when finished, they fancy themselves as "FIERCE WARRIORS" for Islam.

In reality, they are cowardly vermin, too afraid to engage our forces face to face. This very fact speaks volumes about the integrity of our forces.

You really would be best served to learn a little more about Mr. Reiland!

Yah, right. I get all my trusted war news from an economics professor who runs a restaurant.

I know all I need to know by knowing that he's quoting Hersh as though Hersh's word is the gospel.

Welcome to FR 12. btw, you aren't expected to respond to every poster that posts on a topic you posted.

Thank you, Sergeant-Major, for taking all my points.

But then, I'm just a National Guardsman who's been active since 12 SEP 01, and according to FReeper's, whaddahell do I know about the Army?

I am appalled at the weakness of some of our tactical leaders, in their refusal to fight dirty.

I assumed we've been fighting "dirty" but not advertising it. Isn't that the way it's done? Not sure I'd call it dirty, though. I'd refer to it as professionally tactical.

Or take other appropriate measures. Been there, done that.

The price of such actions can be excessively steep, however.

Yah, right. I get all my trusted war news from an economics professor who runs a restaurant. - There's a guy named Mike Ditka ('da Bears) who owns a restaurant. Would you take anything seriously he had to tell you about football, just because he owns a restaurant or two? Rodney Dangerfield owns a restaurant. If he told you something about comedy would you give a listen, or not, because he owns a restaurant? Lame.

I know all I need to know by knowing that he's quoting Hersh as though Hersh's word is the gospel. - You're reading your own interpretation into that. No gospels in R.R.R's life!

Welcome to FR 12. btw, you aren't expected to respond to every poster that posts on a topic you posted. - I will gratefully strike you off the list.

These irrelevant analogies do not make an economics professor an expert in foreign intelligence and covert actions of the US military. But it does help me to see why you think it does.
