Lucky for them the other guys can't aim.
Great to hear they weren't hurt, that's what counts.

I'm crossing my fingers to see how well these things survive attacks.

No matter what, it has got to be better than a humvee.

A month ago I predicted If they break the Brigade up into MSR security and convoy escort detachments, that will be a clue.

If they head straight for Fallujah or Tikrit or the Syrian border and start disciplining the Hadjis, that'll be a clue, too.

They went to Samarra, which is fairly wooly, and have disciplined a few Hadjis. Wonder how 2-3 Inf got picked for convoy escort? Wonder how long they will be on it. 5-20 gets all the publicity. Hadn't seen anything on 2-3 until today.

Better than a Humvee? Sure, but that thing was meant to replace the Abrams.

It looks like russian BTR-80.

BTR-80 is old soviet design of 1980th. It cann't withstand the hit from PRG-7.

35 soldiers...four Strykers...round exploded about 100 feet over the vehicles....someone fired a burst of AK47 fire at the soldiers....No one was hurt...

...the two incidents made for an unnerving night.

Over the last two weeks of the operation, brigade soldiers have seized several caches of weapons and munitions...rounded up 47 individuals suspected of terrorist activity in this Sunni Triangle...

The pace of the around-the-clock operation continues to be relentless...

“It’s kind of nice today because all we are doing is escorting convoys in and out,” said Soto in a Christmas Day interview. “They have been using us like crazy. I can’t remember the last time I had more than two or three hours sleep at a time.”

Prayers for the tired convoy escorts, stay vigilant and steady, aim true.

The Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle was never meant to replace the Abrams. There is a Stryker Mobile Gun System that could not be ready in time to deploy to Iraq. The Canadians intend to replace their Leopards with the Stryker Mobile Gun System. When the Abrams finally is replaced, it will probably be with a second-generation Future Combat System Line Of Sight Mounted Combat Vehicle.

The predecesors of Stryker. What is different?

You can read your email in a Stryker. archy and I have compared Strykers to BTRs before. I'll look for those posts. Excellent videos you linked. Thanks.
