Ah yes. I remember that. That was when Free Republic was a mere message-based forum, instead of the multinational news corporation it is now.

A troll wandered into the forum, and started making no sense. I had remembered an odd little couplet: "Doubling platinum and pushing Bently's" ... and with a nice diet coke by my side, went nuts:

Platinum be doubling on cadmium. Platinum be bubblin' and glistenin' on em. You problem be, you ain't been pushin' no Bently's like Steve Forbes be pushin. You pushing Mercedes. You pushin' Mercedes and Mercedes be doublin' Pentium on em. Pat Buchanan be pushin' Mercedes, and he bubblin' and glistenin' on em. He doublin' platinum by bubblin' and glistenin' on em. He doublin' platinum by pushin' Mercedes. Steve Forbes ain't doubling platinum, he pushing Bently's on em.

The troll was struck mute, and was banned a short time later. Such is the power of Bubblin' and Glistenin' on em.

That Senator Pardek is a Mel Gibson lookalike and doesn't have a wheel chair and six gorgeous nurses surrounding him at all times! That there really are Knights in Shining Armor on White Chargers still abounding in the south and that Eddie is one of them! That Lazamataz isn't the class clown after all and for a New Yorker is pretty cool.

That there are a lot of wonderful people here at FR who will stick with you through thick and thin. I admire them.
