I am sorry for being so late in responding to each of you personally. It has been a busy day trying to make arrangements for my mothers funeral and getting things ready for my kids when Santa arrives tonight ..

I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your thoughts and prayers for my mother, my family and I. They mean a great deal to me. As I read each post and prayer, I can't help but feel how blessed I am to have so many caring and thoughtful freeper friends.

Some of you may know that my mom had Alzheimer ... I knew this day would come .. I just didn't know it would be so soon.

Last week she come down with either a bad cold or the flu, which quickly turned into pneumonia. I rec'd a call from the hospital very early Sunday morning saying to hurry back, that mom went into respiratory failure and her chances did not look good. At first, Mom hung in there and tried to fight it, but as the days passed, I think she was worn out and just wanted to go home to God.

My father was diagnosed with cancer when I was 3 years old and for 5 years till his death, mom some how managed to take care of him and their seven children. After dad passed away, mom raised us kids by herself. (our ages at that time were 19 yrs. to 2 yrs. old) She put us through school and whenever any of our friends needed a home to go to .. our door was always open to them. She had a hard life, but never complained about it. She would always say, no matter how bad things got for her, there was always someone else who needed the help more.

I may no longer have her with me on earth, but I know I will always have her in spirit. She is at peace and in a much better place ... She is in God's arms now and with my dad .

Thank you again for all your prayers and may you have a Merry Christmas.

God Bless you all

God be with you and your family Mo. You've been on my mind and in my heart through this past week. I hate that you're having to go through this now at Christmas, but because Jesus came, your Mom could go to a better a place to live forever, and you can rest in the knowledge that you will see her again. I pray that you would have a blessed and peaceful Christmas. Love and big HUGS.

........or the flu, which quickly turned into pneumonia.

This happened to my husband. He got out of the hospital last week but is still very weak.

You take care of yourself during this difficult time. Cyber hug on the way.

What a great testimony to your mother. I'm sure the Lord was waiting with open arms and the first words she heard was, "Welcome home, my good and faithful servant". He will take care of you also.

What an absolutely remarkable and wonderful woman. All of Heaven is rejoicing as they welcome her home.

What a magnificent woman she was. Thanks for taking a moment to tell us more about her.

I trust she does stay close in spirit to you ... I think we'd all do well to be "closer in spirit" to her where her determination and steadfastness were concerned.

Take care, Mo1. You'll be in the thoughts and prayers of many.

(((((Maureen))))))) My sister in law Nancy just lost her Mom this summer to Alzhiemers. She said it was like losing her Mom twice. But also like losing her for such a long time too. I know it was horrible to watch her Mom go through this.. and I know you know what she is talking about. Just know that my heart goes out to you.. and that I care deeply.

God Bless you sweets.

Anything I say won't convey what I'd want to say, so I'll just say thank you for dropping in and give you a cyber hug.

Mo,

Thank you for sharing those words about your dear mother.

She is indeed in a much better place yet she will live on in those blessed by her life and those touched by your loving memories of her.

I may no longer have her with me on earth, but I know I will always have her in spirit.

Always, Mo. I lost my mother unexpectedly just a few years ago, when she was in her mid-fifties. I don't believe a day goes by that I don't feel her near me or blessed for the time we had. I have no doubts that memories of your mother will comfort and inspire you in the same way and she will always be near.

My prayers are with you and your family.

Mo...may God surround you with his love...and allow you to grieve and heal...and remember your Mom as she was. May you feel his comfort at those times when you just can't hold it together. Having lost my own Mother, I know that those times can sneak up on you. 'Tis OK. She knows. And God knows. And they both are sending you their love.
