[history]
Embarrassed by Saturday night's national television interview, pro football Hall of Famer Joe Namath admitted on Tuesday that he had been drinking and apologized to ESPN reporter Suzy Kolber for saying he wanted to kiss her.
"I was full of some Christmas cheer, certainly too much. It was a festive occasion," Namath said of the gathering of former New York Jets stars who were to be honored at the game at Giants Stadium against the New England Patriots. "I wasn't trying to be rude and crude. I feel awful about what happened, for my family and the Jets. I've been in better Christmas spirits, no pun intended."

"If we had known definitively (Namath) was in that kind of state, we wouldn't have conducted the interview."Ughh, couldn't you tell when you walked over and asked him to appear. Lame on ESPN's part.

Ahh Joe... don't worry, it was comic relief for the season ending embarrassment the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets suffered at my superior Patriots.

Well, he was man enough to apologize and admit he was full of cheer. She appears to be totally lacking in feminazi tendancies and accepted the apology. So it's over. That's the way the world is suppose to work.
I don't catch much ESPN. Thanks for letting us know he's apologized, she's accepted and it's over.

Joe Namath bump.
There was a time when an incident like this would have been seen as just another chapter in the legend of Joe Namath, but based on what I've seen of the Jets, they are now a very classy organization under the ownership of "Woody" Johnson (Robert Wood Johnson IV).

After initially speaking coherently Bwhahahahaha... the first 30 seconds I thought ol' Broadway had suffered a heretofore unknown stroke - then I after the 2nd sentence I knew he was snookered.

I still think a drunk Joe Namath has a better chance of getting to kiss Suzy than a sober me does. :(

That IS the way it's supposed to work, IG. Thankfully, both were grown up enough and gracious enough to handle the situation well.

Sexual harassment is OK at ESPN, just as long as he didn't critique the P.C. Media

"Embarrassed Namath" is a misleading headline. I dont' think anyone is capable of embarrassing Joe Namath.

Don't feel too sorry for yourself, Ol' Fur Coat has a wife at home that was surely watching the broadcast...
To: Iowa Granny
She has that "friend's younger sister" thing going. Guess that's what attracted ol' Joe.

File under "incomplete pass."
Still, Namath is having a better year than Drew Bledsoe.

"Ol' Fur Coat" is a reference to Namath. He is famous for wearing fur coats in his "Broadway Joe" years.

I still think a drunk Joe Namath has a better chance of getting to kiss Suzy than a sober me does.I dunno.
I think both Broadway Joe and my bifocaled eyes are gettin' too old.
In that pic, I think he's startin' to look a little like Yogi Berra.
To: StatesEnemy
Umm I was referring to THIS fur coat:
