Prosecutors Can Examine Limbaugh Records

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Prosecutors can examine Rush Limbaugh's medical records to determine whether he should be charged with "doctor shopping" for prescription painkillers, a judge ruled on Tuesday.

Palm Beach Circuit Judge Jeffrey A. Winikoff denied the conservative commentator's request to keep the records sealed.

Limbaugh's attorneys had argued that the seizure of the records from doctors in Florida and California violated the radio host's privacy. Investigators obtained the records last month after discovering that Limbaugh received more than 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors, at a pharmacy near his $24 million Palm Beach mansion.

Doctor shopping refers to looking for a doctor willing to prescribe drugs illegally, or getting prescriptions for a single drug from more than one doctor at the same time.

The Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office began investigating Limbaugh last year, after his former maid told them she had been supplying him prescription painkillers for years.

Limbaugh recently admitted his addiction, stemming from severe back pain, and took a five-week leave from his afternoon radio show to enter a rehabilitation program.

In Florida, the judges make the law.
In Florida, the judges control the legislature.
In Florida, all corruption starts at the bench.
If the Florida judiciary continues to win, conservatives across the US will lose.
Rush is screwed because he lives in Florida.

Maybe you need a break.

Don't make any sudden moves.

Step away from the keyboard.

There'll be a knock at the door.

Keep both hands visible.

He has condemned this type of behavior for years so he really has two choices: admit he is a hypocrite and was too strident in his criticism of the moral failings...

It appears you are wrong.

The last time Rush addressed the illegal drug issue on the air was back in 1995...is what Rush's ideological enemy said. They had to go 8 years in the past to cite him? Somewhere the article is posted on FR.

As for moral failing, Rush addressed his moral failings 'saying he was no role model' the week before he went into detox therapy.

I hope the appellate court judge overrules this.

Levin says this is the FIRST time in Palm Beach county that doctor's records have been searched in such a case.

The ones I mentioned are totally anti-Rush. Read their comments above, and click on their links. No "about" pages.

Same pattern as the "job-loss posters" that invaded FR.

My tin-foil hat theory is that there are a lot of "sleeper freeper" names registered over the course of a few years, who get "activated" to go after certain "high value" targets on this site.

So far, Job-loss posts and anti-Rush posts seem to be high enough to go for it.

See tagline.

Levin says two of the doctors work at the same surgery center and one of them was just filling in for the other.

Same here. But at the same time, I'm very curious about what the facts of this case are.

Well pleasure is allowed too. Morally allowed. Nor are aggravation, mortification and self-denial meritorious in and of themselves. The law does not and should not compel us to wear hair shirts, whip ourselves or lacerate ourselves.

Rush was obviously a hoghly functioning, astute, hard-working adult and there are no reports of violence, of theft, of reackless behaviour that endangers others ... or even himself.

What exactly about his oxycontin use was *criminal*? Do we hold to absolute values? -- The Founder's Natural Rights doctrine also implies absolute "natural" values, that is that there are acts which are criminal, by their very nature.

Drug use is NOT one of them.

What is *criminal* is holding people to harsh account for acts which by Natural Rights are not criminal!

It has been reported here that Rush stated he began avoiding the mentioning of any issues related to drugs when he developed his own problem. Which makes him not only a hypocrite, but a coward, too.

Do we hold to absolute values?

I dunno, lets ask all those folks with drug convictions on their record.

lol! Actually, to complete the theory, if one were to register a bunch of names over the years, it would be too much work to create an about page for each of them. Too hard to write differently on each, and too confusing if they got mixed up.

I see very few empty "about" pages in regular freepers, except one-topic posters. Then you see a slew.

Try it!

Well, I think we know the facts. Rush got addicted to painkillers due to severe back pain. This is nothing more than a with hunt.
