[history]
Libya's decision to give up its weapons of mass destruction is making it harder for Democrats such as Howard Dean to disparage President Bush's war against Iraq, which prompted Libya's move.
Mr. Dean, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has been uncharacteristically silent about Mr. Bush's bombshell announcement on Friday that Libya has agreed unconditionally to relinquish its chemical-, biological- and nuclear-weapons programs.

Even as he said it you could tell from his tone of voice that he knew it was ridiculous. These people are utter scum.
To: Hugin
Sometimes I get the feeling he is just there to play devil's advocate. I get the occasional feeling he doesn't necessarily believe in a point he is trying to make. I try so hard to dislike "Lizard Man" (that's what my kids call him), but he'll do or say something which makes me like the guy (sometimes). Grrrrr...
His whining gets on my nerves though, and he laughs like a vampire. Bahahahaha....
To: SpookBrat
Yeah, I figure his job is to present the liberal point of view on the show and he just does it the best he can, even if he doesn't quite believe it sometimes. Sometimes I get the feeling he would like to say, "You're right, Bush was right about that, the Democrats were wrong." But then what kind of a show would that be?
Occasionally even he can't handle the looney left though, like when he and Sean both went after the PETA whacko the other night.

OMGosh, I saw that and I was so ticked off. I was just reading a Teen Magazine my daughter had, and it seemed like every other page mentioned animals rights, etc. I was angry and told her she was not to spend her money on that crap any more. We had a long talk about animals rights. It's so easy for our children to get suckered by emotional liberal arguments. That guy on H & C was a real son-of-a-gun.

Don't be too sure about those three electoral votes. He barely squeaked by in his last election for governor in Vermont.

I'm with you on that. I just don't want a win, I want a bloodbath. I want the Democrat Party consigned to the ash heap of history along with the Whig Party. I want a pick-up of 10 GOP Senators. It's within our grasp.

"I heard Alan Colmes try to make the argument like ' doesn't this just show that diplomacy is the more effective way to these countries to disarm?"
Unbelievable.....Libya disarm's because they are afraid the US will do to them what we have done to Iraq and Alan Colmes has the audacity to claim that this disarmament was caused by diplomacy. Sigh....
To: Arpege92
Removing Colmes' lips from the keister of the UN would be a full time job.

"doesn't this just show that diplomacy is the more effective way to get these countries to disarm?" YES. ABSOLUTELY. But, the democrats, the media, need to learn the definition of diplomacy.
Diplomacy= When you have them by the balls, their minds will follow.
PROOF?
Monday, after Saddam had been captured, France and Germany, in total reversal of previous stance, stated, "forget the oilfields Saddam owed us, forget the contracts to rebuild Iraq. Matter of fact, let's forget all the money the Iraqi's owe us. Now, what else do you want us to do?"
Later, Russia made more or less the same offer. Iran (you're next, Syria) offered to 'allow' UN inspectors in, etc. The dominoes just keep falling over.
Yep. Diplomacy works. Right after the opposition completely understands the position they are in.
It will take a long time for many to see how much will be accomplished in such a short time by the tactics, determination, and good moral compass that this administration seems to have.

Let's see if I can figure out Dean's logic. His handlers didn't hear the speech, therefore it didn't happen.

Dang, dang, dang. If the media comtinues to expose Howie Dean, he'll not get the nomination. You better send him some money quick. Here's a couple of links:

Mr. Bush said the Libya agreement was made possible by nine months of "quiet diplomacy," which prompted criticism from Sen. John Kerry, Massachusetts Democrat. "Ironically, this significant advance represents a complete U-turn in the Bush administration's overall foreign policy," Mr. Kerry said. "An administration that scorns multilateralism and boasts about a rigid doctrine of military pre-emption has almost in spite of itself demonstrated the enormous potential for improving our national security through diplomacy.
What an idiot. The quiet diplomacy was not a U-turn in foreign policy, but a direct benefit from the foreign policy that embraces military pre-emption.

LOL! Thanks for a great laugh! The 'unemployed' for Dean. I guess "misfits" or "cretins" for Dean about sums up his supporters.

Well, I'm an American and I'd like to see him in a strapless ballgown, singing Gershwin tunes. Some of the get-ups I have seen on him are even more amusing. You are going to have to wait a long time for the singing part though.
