You can donate to FR by clicking on the little yellow, white and black icon on the top right of FR's home page.

You can also support FRN (Free Republic Network) by signing on for the cruise. FRN is the activism arm of FR and supports freeper chapters all over the country by providing educational tools and assistance when called on.

FRN was and is the sponsor of quality events such as the Freeps Ahoy cruises, the FRiva (Viva FRee Republic!) conferences and the Liberty and Support the Troops Rallies held across the nation.

In addition, FRN always has a booth at CPAC in D.C. every year. This is a three-day conference gathering of most of the notable conservative organizations in the country and attract speakers such as V.P. Cheney.

Gazoo, you'll learn everything you want to know about FR and FRN on this week-long cruise.....and have a ball doing so.

I lurked a little before I had the nerve to post.

An excellent idea (on your part and on the part of anyone). I did the same thing - it gave me a feel for the personalities here before I started posting.

I'd go on this cruise but I pretty much stick to Crystal Cruises (its like "Cheers" - everybody knows my name), and I've already got one booked a couple of months after the Freeper cruise. Hope you have a great time if you choose to go!

ATTENSHUN, FREEPERETTES!

Here's your big chance. Grab it!

A lady freeper is looking for a roomie. She's a popular poster and lots of fun.....a perfect cruise companion who was with us on FReeps Ahoy 2.

She already has reserved a roomy cabin with its own private balcony on the magnificent Zuiderdam. Heaven is......

The best part is that your share for a whole week's exotic Caribbean vacation will only be around $816 give or take a few bucks. This includes the mandatory per-person port fees and federal taxes, and also includes all the food, entertainment and chocolates-on-your pillow-at-night that you can absorb in a week's freeper funfest.

Ladies, sieze the moment! Freepmail me at "MinuteGal" if you want a total tropical getaway package and a safe, secure, carefree vacation with friends for a song.......and also share some great freeper roomie companionship at the same time!

Freeper guys, we'll help you find a roomie also. Freepmail me and we'll see if we can work something out. You hard-workin' fellas deserve a break this spring, also! DO IT!

Woo Hoo!

FReeps Ahoy bargain vacation deals are yours right now on a TOP-NOTCH, respected and classy cruise line!!!!!

(just wait till you eat lunch and have some of Holland America's famous bread pudding with raisins and hot custard sauce like mom made.....oh, my)

TORTOLA LOVE SONG

Picture you upon this beach
Pina Coladas within your reach
Iced tea for two and two for tea
Oh, can't you see how happy we will be?

Nobody near us to see us or hear us
No dreary vacations with liberal relations
We'll let it be known, dears
That no phones are near us
Ole!

We'll leave behind all our cares, woes and hassles
We'll work on our tans and build lovely sand cassles
A cruise for you, a cruise for me
Oh, can't you see how happy we will be!!!!!

Thanks, Doughty...... great shot of White Bay, Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

Tortola is a wonderful destination in our freeper cruise itinerary. It's a beautiful little islet, a real change from some of the more bustling ports we'll visit.

Tortola ("land of turtle doves") is only 21 square miles with a total population of around 19,000. It's situated about 60 miles east of Puerto Rico. Its capital city is Road Town, where we'll dock.

Road Town's scenic setting and sheltered yacht-filled harbor is wonderful to see from your balcony as the Zuiderdam glides into this port.

The life-style here is laid-back, a way of life evolved over the last 400 years by English, Dutch, French and Spanish adventurers, followed by plantation owners and 20th century settlers.

Savvy shoppers can find bargains in perfume, jewelry, wine and Wedgewood china in the homey-looking stores dotting Road Town's main street. However, the shops are best known for their unique local crafts. Look for one-of-a-kind antiques, silk-screened fabrics, intricate ship models, and watercolors by Tortolan artists.

This is what I really love about some of these islands.... eyecatching native crafts. I don't buy much, mostly looking, but occasionally I find those certain one or two unusual, bargain artifacts that can make a room in my house look like the "afters" on the TV room-makeover programs!

In Road Town, if you want a change from the ship's lunch, you can get palate-pleasing West Indian specialties in a choice of cheerful pastel-painted restaurants. How about some fresh lobster, conch, turtle, spicy goat or curries of every description?

Fresh lobster, woo hoo, but I think I'll pass on the spicy goat, thank you.

How about dropping in at an authentic English pub for a cold one (or would it be a warm one?) The main street Pub serves Pusser's Rum, the traditional drink of the British Navy for 300 years. It also serves a popular, icy cold, fresh-fruity, local concoction known as the "Painkiller".

Tortola, as well as the rest of the 60 islands comprising the BVIs, is under well-accepted British control. A Governor who is the representative of Her Majesty the Queen, plus a popularily-elected legislature, administers the affairs of the BVI island chain. The islands are clean and well-ordered.

Most of the BVIs have succeeded in sageguarding their special charm from the inroads of mass tourism. Escapists discover many wonders in this ancient archipelago, from sanctuaries for exotic flora and fauna to fabulous fishing, snorkling and dive sites.

Tortola is the place to view and photograph/video idyllic sites and vistas, to unwind, to wriggle your toes in the sand, and to absorb the tranquil pleasures of sunshine and sapphire seas.

Some places to visit and things to do in Tortola while we're there.....Botanic Gardens, beautiful four-acre garden includes a lush array of indigenous and exotic tropical plants.....Virgin Island Folk Museum, many fascinating artifacts from Tortola's colorful past......A chartered-bus tour through the island, over the rolling hills, up the lush mountains, past the white sand beaches, eye-popping vistas.

Some of the bus tours stop at a beach like White Bay (pictured above) so passengers can delight in an hour's swim in the warm, crystal clear water in the middle of their drive. Some tours stop for shopping at unique shops. Most of them stop at scenic lookouts so you can revel in Kodak moments.

And all tour buses stop at some local, colorful watering-hole along the way so that passengers can enjoy a complimentary tropical drinky-poo under an outdoor thatched roof as they contemplate the sun, sky, sea paradise surrounding them.

GREAT NEWS, FREEPERS!!!!!!!!!

Just received a bulletin from Holland America that they're extending the time period for their balcony and upgrade promotion.

This means if you book an inexpensive inside cabin, you'll be upgraded to an outside with ocean view. If you book an outside, you'll be upgraded to an ocean view with your own private balcony.

Hey!....all this upgradin' goin' on for no extra charge!

HA is also extending its shipboard credit grant. This means 2 cruisers in an inside cabin will each receive $25 deposited in their shipboard running-account to spend in the ship's fine shops and boutiques, to apply to their final tab, or for any other costs on board such as a massage, a hair cut, cocktails, etc.

If you book in any category of outside cabin, you and your cabin mate will each receive $100 or ($50 each) applied on-board credit . Not too bad!

Phone our lovely honorary freeper mermaid Wanda right away at 1-800-890-7583 to register while nicely-located cabins are still available.

You might want to ask her to book you in a balcony stateroom on "Freeper Row" where all the action will be as we go visiting in and out of each other's cabins all day and all night long.....oh, dear!

In response to a query, cruisers on FReeps Ahoy 3 do NOT have to be registered freepers. Relatives and friends of freepers are most welcome. Lurkers are invited. Your college kids and teens will have a great time.

Heck, in the past we've had freepers who brought lovely Democrat friends with them on our cruises. We know these folks enjoyed our fellowship and we enjoyed theirs. And maybe, heheh, they absorbed some good things about conservatism during our on-board FRN programs.

Why not invite Mom and Dad, or a favorite auntie living alone, or a sibling along with you on this cruise?....... not only for family togetherness, but in appreciation for all the nice things they do and the nice humans they are. I'll bet they'd be thrilled to death to come with you on an unexpected cruise treat.

The logistics of joining this cruise vacation are so easy. Freepers can bank on the expertise of our travel agent mermaid Wanda, our Q & A freeperette, Bahama Mama, and our experienced FR Cruise Committee. Our ongoing, informative cruise threads keep you in the know and worry-free from day-to-day till that glorious afternoon we set sail for the blue Caribbean.

Freepmail me at "MinuteGal" if you have any questions.

Oh what fond memories I have of that trip! You, Dr. Zoo, the beard, the excitement, the champagne, the comaraderie, the manicure and pedicure, finally meeting Japedo and Dean in person, along with Slip and Cyber, Iron Jack, seeing Leni, Bob, Dio, the whole group that I had been conversing with on both FR and Firetalk. People that I had met in SC and at the Ball.

Oh we had a good time, didn't we, from beginning to end?

I must go down to the sea again...

Rotfl - I refuse to comment on the grounds that I might have to admit to a few little idiocyncracies myself when near the ocean or on the ocean...

Sighhhh, did I ever tell you about the most romantic date I ever had? Oh Chesty, well it was like this...
