Brian Kilmeade.

Brian:
"We went to the White House Christmas Party."

Mike:
"Did the President recognize you?"

Brian:
"No. But the First Lady did. You know what. I'm going to say this. Laura Bush is the most attractive first lady we have ever had in the history of all first ladies. She even beats out Martha Washington."

Mike:
"I agree. She is freaking hot."

Brian:
"She's lost a lot of weight. If this First Lady thing doesn't work out I am sure she could be a model somewhere."

That's why book clubs were invented." White House photo by Susan Sterner.

Next-day thanks for the ping. I've gone through the whole thread, and it's been pretty funny seeing pictures comparing a 31-year old Jackie Kennedy to a 57-year old Laura Bush.

Let's remember what Jackie looked like at 57 (even before she tragically got cancer). She was painfully thin, hollow-eyed, and very unhappy-looking.

Our Laura is beautiful and serene. She has the radiance of a woman deeply in love with her husband and he with her.

Very true about the differing ideas of beauty. I wonder what causes that?

***Very true about the differing ideas of beauty. I wonder what causes that?***

Well if we all had the same idea of beauty/handsomeness, there would be a few people (who all looked basically the same) pursued by everyone else, and the people who didn't conform to the standard idea of beauty would be very lonely. Eventually, the species would die out.

In Russia the females have "a's" at the end of their names. Where men have "v's" & "n's." As in Gorbechav. Bet his wife's last name was officially "Gorbechava."

Sure...given the fact that she was at least 20 years YOUNGER than Laura. Jackie doesn't "win" so handily. Compare Jackie & Laura at the same age & see what you get. ;)

This is an absolutely awesome post! Great pics of our gracious and beautiful First Lady and her husband(LOL.) In a few of the pics, the President's affection for Laura just shines through by the way he's looking at her. They are a wonderful couple.
Thanks, ConservativeMan!! This is a great Christmas present.

I've always thought our First Lady was gorgeous, graceful, stylish, intelligent, warm, sweet, kind... Need I go on? I thank God for her every day, that He kept us from getting that tipper-thing and saved us from another 4-8 years of humiliation!

But, to compare either Laura Bush or Nancy Reagan to Jackie Kennedy, is sheer folly. Unlike Nancy Reagan, who always looked ready to appear on the cover of a fashion magazine, Jackie Kennedy was featured on the cover of many fashion magazines.

Most people here find that Laura's very genuine appearance is what makes her so attractive. OTOH you are more interested in the wrapping paper than in the present itself. Kinda funny in a very shallow way....

the Jackie photo was a magazine shot, and could have been altered, and the Laura shot is a pose at a real life event in Europe.

All anyone needs to do is remember the photo on Hillary's book cover and 'shudder' think about what she really looks like...

But on straight looks alone, I think Jackie's got it won hands down.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I've seen still and moving shots of Jackie, and I still don't think she was as pretty as Laura.
