Joe Namath Drunk Interview On ESPN's Patriots-Jets Game Saturday Night?

Did anyone see Joe Namath's sideline interview with the female reporter-babe during the second quarter of the Pats-Jets game?
She was asking him about Chad Pennington, and he talked to her like Chad was going to lead them to a championship...of course, the Jets aren't going anywhere now...and his speech was very deliberate and slow.
"He's either drunk or he has some kind of disease", I said to my mate.
The very next question, the woman (I didn't catch her name) asked him about how great it was being a QB as a Jet...and Namath started smiling and leaning around her...she kept her distance as best she could as she held the mic up to Joe.
"I wanna kiss you!" Namath blurted...before he got some more composure, spoke about the team looking forward to next year...then ended with the same line "I really wanna kiss you!" or something like that.
The girl said, "Thank you Joe, I'll take that as a compliment."
The announcers were silent for a second, then one of them said, "Joe is a fun guy..."
Kind of reminded me of the story of Howard Cosell getting sauced in the booth during a Monday Night Football game.

Broadway Joe appeared smashed.
Howard Cossell was drunk enough that he vomited all over "Dandy Dan" Meredith's new cowboy boots. This hacked Don off, and led to some of the barbs in the broadcast booth from that point on.
The gal may have been trying to make sure her shoes remained inviolate.

it wasn't Namath's fault. It was the networks for putting a camera in front of him. Joe is Broadway Freakin Joe and he earned it too. Agreed. Gotta Love Joe Willie Namath. He's still the best I've ever seen.

I watch FB games on TV with the sound OFF, so I didn't hear Joe's comments. I saw him grinning and bending in the direction of the interviewer. She also had a huge grin on her face. It all looked strange to me, but I payed no attention to it all until I read these posts.

I didn't see the interview, but from what I gather here, I have to blame the interviewer babe for interviewing Joe Willie in the first place. She had to know he was drunk beforehand. Her fault all the way for even going on camera with my buddy Joe Willie in the first place.

supposedly, when his wife and daughter left him, he was totally devasted, perhaps even having a breakdown. From what I heard, she left him for a urologist who does penis enlargements out in Caleefornia. Ouch!

I saw the interview. At first I thought he might have had a previous stroke. Then when he made two passes at the woman interviewer I figured he was just drunk. -Tom

" didn't see it, but his normal speech has a slur or drawl in it."

Namath's got a big problem. I remember when he missed Marino's big party at Pro Player stadium a couple of years ago. Namath made it to the stadium, but that was it.

Namath is an old midlife crisis drunk.
Most overrated QB to ever play the game.
