Serbian? Yes. Another website says "The U.S. Embassy's 2002 non-paper claimed the FRY [Former Republic of Yugoslavia] was assisting both Libya and Iraq with their 'long range' missile/rocket programs, sighting the presence of FRY missile specialists in Iraq throughout 2001. Other scientists from Belgrade have developed a plethora of dual-use technologies suitable for a 'poor-man's' cruise missile, and are rumored to have helped Iraqi scientists convert Iraqi MiG-21 and other training vehicles into unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)."

Indian? along with Iranian, North Korean, and Chinese entities? Boy, they are enterprising aren't they? Glad we're not transferring technology to India, right? . . . .

Well, as a straight guy I never particularly thought him "hot", but he does have a tremendous sense of Bedouin style. I enjoyed his antics as my favorite cartoon dictator of the 1980s. I always remember he would make threats against the Sixth Fleet, but he couldn't pronounce "sixth" so it came out as "Seekh-ah-tah" Fleet.

Now, don't get me wrong -- I didn't shed any tears when we blew up his tent and killed his camels. I HAD noticed he seemed to have been behaving himself since Saddam became the #1 Cartoon Dictator.

On Fox they kept talking about how Col. Khaddafi was doing it to "save his skin." Why the disrespect? I think it is tremendous that he may be showing that a dictator can change and that's a great message to all of the other strongmen in the world. I DO think it ought to be a "trust but verify" deal, though.

The timing of this announcement paints a different picture....
right after Saddam is pulled from a hole and starts ratting on his own, loyal followers....
after the US Military uses the information that Saddam gives them to neutralized a good number of those followers....
it sounds like the Libyan Leader might be worried about some things that Saddam may be singing about him....

If Libya announces that they are giving up WMD on their own they look like the good guys. If they wait until Saddam squeals about a WMD link between Iraq and Libya (no source, just a guess) they will appear to be supporters of Saddam and will face having to give up their WMDs any way.

My theory is that Saddam sent the WMD's to Libya, but mostly to Syria. If they pulled off sending several semis full of American Dollars out of Iraq, why not WMD's?

The only thing that surprizes me is that it took old Mo this long after Saddam's capture to capitulate. As I recall, on 9/11 the most dangerous place to be was anywhere between Gaddafi and a TV news camera so he could announce that he had nothing to do with the attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon.
