Investigators today linked a shot fired at a South Side house to a series of shootings along I-270, raising the number to 16 cases.
The latest case, which happened Monday, was the third to occur after the death of a Washington Court House woman on Nov. 25. The bullet -- the seventh to be linked ballistically to the shootings -- penetrated a Brown Road home and struck a bathtub. No one was injured. Franklin County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Steve Martin said a man living in the house heard three shots about 12:30 a.m. Two bullet holes were found in the front of the house. The two-story house sits across from a cemetery about 2 miles north of I-270 and I-71 and becomes the northernmost site connected to the case. "Many have speculated as to why the shooter or shooters may have selected the location where the latest incident took place," Martin said. "For now that remains unclear."
A task force began investigating the shootings after the death of Gail Knisley, 62, of Washington Court House, who was being driven by a friend to a doctor's appointment. The string of shootings began in May, but most occurred within the past two months. A school, cars, trucks and vans have been hit at varying times of the day and night. Shots also were fired at a car on the highway and at another house after the death of Knisley, the only person struck in the shootings.
Anyone with details helpful to the investigation is asked to call the tip line at 614-462-4646.

There was something on the news this a.m. about a number of school buses showing signs of bullet dents (?) in the area of I-270. The schools serviced by those buses are closed today while they investigate.

Just noticed that thread. Thanks.
For those who have not gone through something like this, it is a terrorizing experience. During the DC Sniper saga, just about everyone was effected in the metro area.

The wife and I just drove that stretch Tuesday evening. We live near the east end of the stretch where the incidents are happening. We drove to the west side to do some holiday shopping.
I will not live in fear.

During the DC Sniper saga, just about everyone was effected in the metro area. I know, and it's horrifying to see people have to go through something like that again.

I took take an alternate route on the way home from work (Tuttle to Broad instead of Tuttle to 62).
I guess other than that, we chance it.

During the DC Sniper saga, just about everyone was effected in the metro area. And further. My son's 5-day middle school field trip to DC was cancelled before they caught the DC snipers. It's a five-hour drive to DC from here.
I recently finished Angie Cannon's book about the DC snipers. The pair complained that if they had just chosen to disappear instead of continue sniping, they would never have been captured.
We all hope these OH dudes are as dumb and are captured soon. Wishes for you all in the area to stay safe!

It was crazy. People changed their everyday habits. Many would fill their gas tanks while slouched down in the driver's seat.

"The latest case, which happened Monday, was the third to occur after the death of a Washington Court House woman on Nov. 25. The bullet... Ya know this guy is either a really bad shot, or he isn't really targetting people. Because out of 16 shootings he has hit and killed only one person. I am just wondering if that one wasn't by mistake.
Then again, he just could be one lousy shot. Either way I hope they catch him soon, tie him naked to a wooden chair, and drive a railroad spike through his manhood.

Ya know this guy is either a really bad shot . . .Yep. He's a shooter, not a sniper.
To: johnny7
I guess we should be thankful that this idiot is such a crappy shot.

If he is using a small caliber ie.22rf and at longer range they could easy just dent a the side panels of a school bus they are made of fairly thick and tough metal. If he is using larger stuff he would have to be a lot farther away to just dent it.

Southwestern City Schools...the district my child's private school is in, but they didn't shut down today. Wish this would be over with already.

That's all fine and dandy, but try driving it twice a day, pregnant, and with two young children in tow. I just don't feel I can play brave with their lives you know?
