She's the junior senator from New York and she's not running for president, but Hillary Clinton drew enthusiastic crowds in South Florida on Tuesday, demonstrating once again that she is one of the most popular Democratic politicians in the nation.
Clinton was treated more like a rock star than a Yale-trained lawyer and former first lady turned senator.
Long lines of fans sought signed copies of her best-selling memoir, Living History, at the Barnes & Noble in Wellington and at Books & Books in Coral Gables.
She was mobbed at a fund-raising luncheon reception for the Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston in West Palm Beach and a fund-raising dinner for the Democratic National Committee in Miami.
For many Democrats, Clinton elicits nostalgia.
"For a lot of younger Democrats, the eight years when the Clintons were in the White House are the only Democratic years they remember," said David Niven, a Florida Atlantic University political scientist.
Those memories and Clinton's personal charisma translate into strong support. But she also is a polarizing figure.

She was mobbed - but no mention of injuries. Maybe she should be a bit more careful around her fans?

For the love of God ..... Not the black pantsuit with the "casually" tied baby blue sweater around the neck.
I have to go wash my eyes out now.

I'm with you - when I saw the headline, I was hoping that the 'mob' was there to give this _itch "The Full Mussolini".

Well, there's always the pretty and pink (gag) to fall back on.

South Florida....Miami, Dade County, Lauderdale...is not representative of all of Florida, as implied by the headline. Most of the residents of "South Florida" couldn't find their rear ends with both hands...are socialist and liberal to the core.

Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) tours a U.S. barracks in Baghdad November 28, 2003. Clinton said on December 1 that more U.S. troops were needed in Iraq and urged the Bush administration to actively seek United Nations involvement to give greater legitimacy to rebuilding efforts. Clinton, who visited U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan over the Thanksgiving holiday, said there was not the 'right mix of troops' to get the job done. Photo by Pool/Reuters

I can hear her grating, condescending, schoolmarmish prattleAnd she's telling them:
"I was named after Sir Edmund Hillary." (Even though Edmund was an obscure bee-keeper in New Zealand, and didn't scale the mountain until six years after she was "born". Brilliant!
Here's one for you all:
A New York stockbroker got stuck in some bad traffic on the way home the other day. He asked a cop on the beat, "what was the holdup?" Cop says, "it's Hillary in her motorcade. She stopped and is threatening to douse herself in gasoline and set herself on fire. She's depressed because Bill's running around on her more than ever, Bush upstaged her in Iraq, Gore grossed her out, and she's flipped out about Saddam. So we're taking up a collection for her."
The stockbroker asks the cop, "How much have you got so far? The cop replies, "About four and a half gallons, but alot of folks are still siphoning!" ****************
