SADDAM Hussein was no longer in Iraq, the US television network CBS reported today, citing unidentified military sources.
A CBS News correspondent in Saddam's northern Iraq hometown of Tikrit, near where Saddam was captured yesterday, said he had learned from military sources that the former Iraqi president was no longer in the country.
US Lieutenant General Ricardo Sanchez, the top US military commander in Iraq, said in Baghdad that Saddam "is currently under coalition custody and at an undisclosed location".

Aircraft carrier?
If this happened, it just occurred to me that Saddam will now be a "post-modern" version
of "A Man Without A Country".
Maybe he'll write ex-gov. Gray Davis, Gov. Arnold, and the California legislature
in hopes of getting a California driver's license to help him with his "illegal" status.

And... this may be a crazy thought -but will Bush want to look this man in the eye? See him face to face? Kind of give him the Tony Soprano look?! And the Al Gore "Nod"~campaign 2000 debate.

"It would be interesting if Saddam tells who in the media and weapons inspectors he was effectively blackmailing."

Remember, CNN actually admitted to it a while ago.
I bet Chirac is having a bad day... wait until Saddam will implicate him in helping Saddam get hold of WMD.

Good move.
Wasn't it Sadaam himself that once said "I'll never leave Iraq"? He was mistaken.

I wonder if we could get Colonel West to head the interrogation ???? <<< What was Col West's unit. Was it perhaps the same unit that was involved in Saddam's capture? If so, it woould sure be fitting that he get some kind of recognition from someone, (FR?), of having recently led the unit that found the "Ace in the Hole" as Brit Hume put it.

The Sr. President Bush does not have a ranch in Texas nor anywhere else. He has a home in Houston and a compound of several buildings in Maine.
As to the cattle prod ...... I LIKE IT! ;-)

The french and the germans have been dreading this moment.
The French, Germans, and Russians will probably send hit squads to kill off Saddam. A trail would prove very embarrassing to them.

Accurate. Recall that Ramsey Clark made a pilgrimage to Saddam just before the war. I thought that he was giving assistance in running a post war terrorist campaign in the field and in the media. What hole does Ramsy hide in BTW?

There is no hole too low for Ramsey Clark. He had the gall to tell Saddam's victim's families that they were making up stories about Saddam's murder campaign. In another era he would have been goose-stepping with Hitler.
