CNN'reporter LIVE from Baghdad is on now (in body armor)reporting that:
"Ordinary Iraqis don't have enough electricity, gas lines are long, they cannot understand why America can't solve these pressing problems. Saddam being captured changes nothing."
Tokyo Rose had nothing on these people.

The first words out of Campbell Brown's mouth this morning were, "This should help President Bush," to which Tom Brokaw (to his credit) cut her off and said it was a triumph for the Iraqis.
These leftists just cannot view anything outside the lens of politics or even give President Bush credit.

Great news... The DemUns at another site are trying to figure how this is bad, how the timing is suspicious, and how this will help Lieberman and Kerry.
One question I haven't heard discussed is whether we think this will lead us to stores of WMD. If he is indeed cooperating, we can learn if there are any and if not, why he pretended he did. Since he didn't use them, I don't know if it would hurt his case (trial) to tell where they are.
Meanwhile, Charlie Gibson is worried about how to find impartial judges in Iraq for Saddam's trial...

Let's play a game. Let's help the 'RATS counter-spin this. They've been pretty good at shooting themselves in the foot lately, so they need the help.
I'll start.
"We'd have caught Hussein much sooner if we had waited for the UN" (contradictory on its face, but might resonate with several who aren't paying attention, and most Democrats will buy this).
"This doesn't mean the war is over. Americans will stil die in Iraq for months to come for no reason."
"Capturing Hussein won't mean peace in the Middle East. It's just not that simple, and the Bush team doesn't recognize that".
For any Bush team members out there that read this forum and my post specifically, Please feel free to use this to start developing counter-points. :-)

I'm watching scenes on CNN showing people celebrating, while on NPR the newswench is saying that people in Baghdad are not happy and are not celebrating because they have no gas, no water, blah, blah, blah.

He was caught like a rat in a cellar. Stuck in a hole in a ground, just like Hitler. And CNN's spin on it will go something like this:
"He was caught like a rat in a cellar. Stuck in a hole in a ground, just like Hitler and we Americans consider ourselves to be a compassionate people".

Mt son has been patroling the streest of Baghdad for months and the Iraqis have constantly asked him, "why haven't you captured Sadaam?" or words to that effect. It has been the big questions, especially among the Shiites.

In the brief amount of time(5 minutes) I could tolerate being at that cesspool, I didn't see much wringing of hands. The stench is incredible, isn't it?
The two threads I was reading were full of concern about how this news was gonna affect the Dean and Clark Campaigns. Much anticipation that the economy might yet re-tank and a scummy few that were actually wishing that attacks would now increase.
Perhaps we were on different threads. But I stand by my previous statement, Heck, I might even sign up over there to do some fake hand-patting while subliminally sowing seed of discontent and worry.

Reading between the lines I can see that if CNN were not depressed and angered by this news they would have no need to make this preposterous statement. Hey, let's face it: CNN is thinking back, 'a year ago, we had a monopoly on cable news coverage in Iraq... We had a patron in Saddam and his henchmen... Yes, we had to restrain ourselves from reporting a few unfortunate facts about life in Iraq, but it was worth the big ratings advantage... Seeing our old patron caught in that hole sure is a bummer...'

Same type of crap from MSNBC web.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3708609/ Saddams capture may not end unrest
Arrest seen more as a coup for Bush administration.
Didn't take them long to start playing politics. These people have no souls.

I prefer the film showing the doctor checking his teeth...
As a doctor, I know this is for two reasons: One, to identify him via dental records, and two, to check he doesn't have a cyanide capsule in his back tooth.
But it makes him look silly...and instead of showing a snarling Saddam having his mouth pried open, it shows a sad, dissheveled Sadam willingly opening his mouth...I'm sure they are beaming this picture over all the Arab networks (not)

I am freaking amazed. They don't have an ounce of decency or patriotism in their pinko bodies. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Just watching ABC news and Charlie Gibson...who just said to the Iraq ambassador to US
What does this "practically" MEAN to the regular citizen of Iraq (with a sigh)- ???
You could tell he didn't like her long and detailed answer back about how wonderful this news is and how much meaning it really has on all levels....he did a short "hmmmm" to her long answer.
You can just hear the bias - these people are a disgrace. If friggin clinton had done his job and gotten binladin, even conservatives would have been happy. all they care about is their own twisted "power" grab and everyone just watch the rats "take credit" for this - they are that delusional.

>> "Ordinary Iraqis don't have enough electricity, gas lines are long, they cannot understand why America can't solve these pressing problems. Saddam being captured changes nothing." <<
Meanwhile, from the FoxNews article on their website about Saddam:
Iraqi journalists in the audience stood, pointed and shouted "Death to Saddam!" and "Down with Saddam!"
In the capital, radio stations played celebratory music, residents fired small arms in the air in celebration and others drove through the streets, shouting, "They got Saddam! They got Saddam!"
Two, almost exact opposite, reports of the same story. And CNN wonders why their ratings are pulling a lead ballon.
