CNN'reporter LIVE from Baghdad is on now (in body armor)reporting that:
"Ordinary Iraqis don't have enough electricity, gas lines are long, they cannot understand why America can't solve these pressing problems. Saddam being captured changes nothing."
Tokyo Rose had nothing on these people.

Scanning DU, not a single post saying anything like "Great!" or "This is good news." It's all bad news over there.

I wonder what Saddam was thinking as we "examined" him.Today I was up when all the news was breaking and broke my rule and switched over there and couldn't believe the witch on air said you could hear gunfire all over the city. Then she got a look of disdain on her face and started complaining about all the guns still around! Only an idiot could think about gun control when Saddam's capture had been announced in the previous 30 minutes!Un.
Effing.
Believable.
I predicted this. I really did.

The left will demand that he be turned over to the U.N.(who haven't lifted a finger to help except to complain that security stinks!), so they can try him in Belgium. We ought to let the Iraqui's administer justice. The left want him restored to power in Iraq.

Can't wait to hear what Tokyo Rose Law Firm has to say about the capture of Saddam.
To: Lazamataz
Alot of times I can laugh at them, sometimes I have a screaming fit and scare my pets, and sometimes I am at a loss for words...(my DH would say the loss for words part doesn't apply very often. After my rants at the media he follows up with "But how do you REALLY feel?")
Today is such a day of celebration for our troops and for the Iraqi people that I am at a loss at understanding the reporters that couldn't hide their disappointment. I never expected them to say anything good about Pres.Bush, but I have to conclude they put their politics above our soldiers lives and above the relief this must bring the people tormented for years by Saddam.

Now that they have Saddam, they get the next biggest thing: The billions is has in hiding. No cash to pay insurgents and terrorists.

In the brief amount of time(5 minutes) I could tolerate
being at that cesspool, I didn't see much wringing of
hands.
I did see an amazingly tenuous grip on reality, however.

The Iraqis don't care just like the victims of Hitler didn't care when WWII was over??????????? Sure reconstruction is a long road. But not having to worry about being sent to torture chambers all the time......

This is merely the whining of a network that was SCOOPED, big time! FOX had reports for more than 30 minutes before CNN ran its first headline. Congrats FOX. Also, MSNBC had the story.
I think CNN is rapidly becoming the AMTRACK of news.

I was lurking over at DU and those stupid fools actually believe that he couldn't have run the counter insurgency from "That hole in the ground" well DUh DUmmy he got caught and hid in it. I can, however, believe they are that traitorous after having lurked over there for over a year.

I posted the following on the LIVE thread:
ABC's military "expert" (a Army Mag. Gen.) said at 7:10AM EST before the official announcement of Saddam's capture that his arrest had (paraphrase) "no tactical or strategic value."
The downplaying of this immensely significant event has already begun in earnest.
Again this was even before the news was announced by Bremmer(sp).
