Hispanic boycott hits hard at school

Roosevelt School in Tulare appeared to be the only elementary school affected by today's planned statewide boycott by Hispanics.

"We have almost 200 kids out," Principal Barbara Xavier said, noting the campus has the most Hispanic students in the Tulare City School District.

A Hispanic political organization handed out fliers countywide urging people not to attend school, buy gasoline or shop as an economic boycott to oppose the repeal of the immigrant driver's license bill.

Hey, I have a better idea! How about really teaching us a lesson by leaving the country? For good.

You think they should go to neighboring Visalia??? Golden West or Rewoods??? I don't know if going across town will stop bad schools... how do you mean?? I am sure some are from Farmersville and Woodlake, but the schools are much better there either... I don't think anyone from Portervill would travel that far, so they're safe at Porterville High and Monache from your bright posting.

That I can agree with; but I cannot agree with blanket statements about the 30 million CITIZENS from Spanish backgrounds, which by in large are Catholic backgrounds, which 1/3 VOTE CONSERVATIVE and growing....
