[history]
Roosevelt School in Tulare appeared to be the only elementary school affected by today's planned statewide boycott by Hispanics.
"We have almost 200 kids out," Principal Barbara Xavier said, noting the campus has the most Hispanic students in the Tulare City School District.

May about 4 million stay home and miss school for the next few years.
Out making rounds today, I saw only a couple of probable Illegal Students out. Really bright kids, skate boarding in the rain wearing cotton clothes on the side a very busy street. They look like drenched bad hair homies.

Remember this the next time we see someone bemoaning the poor performance of Hispanics in school and suggesting more funds to rectify the problem. Maybe they should take school a little more seriously.

What if they gave a boycott and nobody came. . .

"We have almost 200 kids out," So what? Seems to me like it would have been a good time to figure out who the illegals were and send them the h*ll home!

The School is only upset cuz they won't get their Government funds for today.
Go back to where they came from if they don't like it here.

immigration would not and in fact, cannot, come on school grounds. Maybe we should send some officers from the department-formerly-known-as-INS to check on possible illegal aliens on the streets on days like these! We can reduce education spending and have fewer problems with overcrowded schools while we're at it.
Sharon Rummery, director of public affairs at Immigration and Customs Enforcement in San Francisco, initially said the same thing.
"The ICE has a very strict rule that no arrests will ever be made in schools or in churches," she said.
However, after speaking to her supervisor, she later called to amend her statement.
"All I am authorized to tell you is that we cannot comment on internal policies," she said.
Why did she need to change her statement? Is the rule about schools and churches supposed to be secret?

The school was probably better off having them gone.
To: TaxPayer2000
Sounds like they have really good student-teacher ratios in that school, about 9 students for each teacher, by my calculation.
600+ students
less than 200 out
So less than 1/3 cut classes.
"We have some classes that have six children in them," So the class would normally have 9.
