SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The strength of the Earth's magnetic field has decreased 10 percent over the past 150 years, raising the remote possibility that it may collapse and later reverse, flipping the planet's poles for the first time in nearly a million years, scientists said.

I think there are a few more major occurances in line...if this were to occur. I might even start thinking that this problem with the atmosphere (the hole) at the South Pole...might be related to this ongoing event. And perhaps the hole has nothing to do with the pollution problems.

That'll be enough of that now. The ozone hole was caused by people -- people at greedy corporations. Any evidence that it's a natural effect should be ignored, buried, and discounted altogether.

Don't you people grasp the severity of this situation? Obviously this weakening of the Earth's magnetic field is a direct result of our widespread use of magnets, which operate by sapping the Earth's magnetic field. Governments the world over have to immediately take action to prevent global catastrophe! We need to immediately enter into treaties to limit the use of magnets, and legislate strict magnetic emmissions standards for all machinery that uses them in its operation! We can't wait and study the subject further, because any delay will only compound the coming global crisis! It's for the children!
