Vaya Con Dios, fello Freeper, keep the beer warm for the rest of us! We'll miss you, and we wish you had not done this, but, I do hope you have found peace.

Mrs. TILH, I know there are no words that can truely take the pain away, but I hope that the collected love and support that I see here gives you some comfort. Your husband was a FReeper, and we remember our own. In fact, I'll bet he's scanning FR right now.

To all our other Freepers, Depression, as much as some would see it as a weakness, isn't. It's a real disease and yeah, I have made a suicide attempt in my life too, but please, if somebody you know starts talking like they are going to take their own lives, then DO SOMETHING! We talk about how much we are pro-life with regards to the abortion issue, we need to remember to practise what we preech with regards to those of us who wrestle with our demons EVERY day. What this should teach us all is this: LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST! I am, and when I do meet my maker, I wanna tell him "I lived". So did Chris.

If you believe in God - understand that there will be no hereafter for suiciders.

Just curious - how do you know for sure?

"If you believe in God - understand that there will be no hereafter for suiciders. There will be no mercy. "

I agree that suicide is wrong...I speak from personal experience, as my father killed himself when I was 19, but why do you think it is unforgivable?

It IS self-murder, I agree, and we don't have the right to murder anyone, least of all ourselves, but God forgives anyone who asks for mercy and trusts in the gift of His Son, so that we may be reconciled to Him.

The Bible speaks of one unforgivable sin...grieving the Holy Spirit. I do not think suicide is unforgivable.

I heard a talk show guest say once that there could
be a breed of humans that are without souls, dating back to the day of Genesis before man was created.

Indeed, there are those who seem souless (like Hitler, or Hillary Clinton and other psychopathic madmen) and it comforts me to know we do not need to awaken or change these people who are completely evil.

All we have to do is know the truth of evil and awaken our own brothers and sisters to reality.

Fighting evil can be depressing if you feel that
you must stop evil people. You can't stop evil, it will
always be.

But, because we are on The Winning Team, God Himself
is on Our Side and will see us to Victory.

Knowing who's on which Team
has given me much strength.

Freep On!

Re Post 25 on your linked thread...

God is the Answer,
but how in this confusing world
can people find Him?

Those who are aware, see hyprocrisy
in even the Church, and yet the desire
to end "the pain" and the confusion and
the obsession with resentment and anger
can lead the blessed innocent ones to
this kind of end because they don't see
any Light in this world.

Yet, from Chris' posts, you can see
that he had this Light.

May his light shine bright in Heaven.

I just read the link you provided, oh boy.

He made a good point, though. We don't have control over our destiny. I like to say how life is a wild ride, just stand still and the earth will spin under 'ya... Hang on!

Every day is special and different.

Things happen. Pipes break, a dog runs away,
a surprise happens, a card in the mail, a friend
calls....

It's just the adventure of life. Good things,
bad things, miracles.

I do believe in miracles, I do believe that in this
moment we live, God can do what He did for Moses and
part the Red Sea in our life and save us from our enemies.

It can be depressing to realize life is not in our control,
and some people do fight this reality. The wind blows and we can't control it, but so what? The "so what" is that God is in control and he can change things.

I'm sorry Chris suffered and was hurt by his mother's death. He must have loved her very much.

Christ fought Satan and Won.

If you ever feel so down, ask Christ
to fight for you.

He will.

Oh I definately know that. The best therapy I ever had was in a little bible church that had a free program for abused girls.

georgebushrocks hasn't been here very long, and in that brief time, he's consistently displayed that his religion translates far more into judgment and condemnation of others than into any degree of either understanding or compassion. You can see what I'm talking about simply by reading his previous posts.

Like many other people, religious and not, he's just parroting what someone else told him -- and it wasn't God who told him, either. He learned it through 12 years at some Catholic school.

Thankyou, Luke Skyfreeper, for being far more charitable to this insensitive... um, well, let's just call him a so-and-so, than I might have been had I not tried to ignore everything the "personage" said.

I so don't need people telling me that what he did was a sin. What he did, was something he'd been leading up to, for years. It hurts me, it hurts others, but right now all I can think of is to hope that Chris himself feels no pain anymore.

I just wanted to take a moment to say how sorry I am for your loss. I will miss TILH's comments on this board, he had a fine mind and a wry sense of humor. In the days to come I hope you find comfort in memories of happier times, and that you find happiness again in your life.

Whatever you do, don't blame yourself for what has happened. Depression is a self-perpetuating and terribly isolating disorder, and in its most severe forms it is quite fatal. Believe me, I know.
