Kerry Promises to Crack Down on Crime in Corporate Offices
By DAVID M. HALBFINGER
OSTON, Dec. 11 Senator John Kerry said on Thursday that he would crack down on abuses in the mutual fund industry if elected president and called for expanding the antiracketeering laws to fight a "new age of organized crime that comes from corporate offices."
Speaking at Northeastern University, Mr. Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat, said he would end the rapid-fire, quick-turnaround trades known as market timing, in which fund managers and big investors have been allowed to profit at the expense of long-term shareholders.
"In America it shouldn't matter whether you're rich or poor, it shouldn't matter whether you're a wealthy investor or a family saving for retirement," he said. "There should be equal opportunity for all instead of special privileges for the few."

Yeah, this campaign's going somewhere. John Kerry's campaign has apparently just discovered
last year's hot issue. Perhaps they think people care enough
about mutual funds to give him a boost in the polls. Right. Run a campaign against corporate mismanagement and corruption, just as the Dow breaks 10,000 and people's investments start making serious money again, that'll get some votes...

He lacks the class warfare instincts of his fat co-senator, but at least he's trying.

That is such cr*p. The implication is that the current administration and or culture in general just gives a pass to corporate corruption.

He also became concerned about outsourcing and the WTO. Last week. His statements on Kyoto, the IBM Treaty and Global Warming are soon to follow...
