To all freepers, I wanted to let you know the problem I have with the League of Women Voters before I deliver my letter to them so that you can check out the links before they have them removed. Let me have you read my letter then I will have an action item at the end.

To my local League of Women Voters,

I have been doing some research about the League, which I SHOULD have done before I joined last year. I was going to tell you of my findings at the Christmas brunch but then thought it was not my place to mess up your party. I will not be re-newing my membership.

I must tell you about myself and some rules that I have in my life. About 10 years ago I found the Communist Goals of 1963, which were read into the Congressional Record Jan. 10, 1963. I had seen in the 30 years or so, that many were accomplished and how it had changed America and I didn’t think it was for the better.

Because of that I kept my eye on CPUSA (Communist party USA) and organizations that promote their goals. I strive to get them out of my life. To this point, when I had a business in Austin for over 20 years and I realized that my top employee donated lots of money to PETA and PETA gives lots of money to Earth 1st (who I consider a domestic terrorist organization) I looked for ways to get my money out of that loop. I wasn’t about to fire a good employee, so I sold my business.

When MoveOn.org was listed as the action wing on the FRONT page of the CPUSA site for MONTHS, maybe a year (I’m not sure when it was that I found it there) I rallied against MoveOn.org every chance I got, because I don’t think that the Communists want America to continue with what made America GREAT. The link was removed around 9/18/03. The Communists want to ease the US to socialism and then to communism. That is NOT the kind of Country that I want to pass down to my son and any grandchildren that I have in the future.

So imagine my surprise when I also found the League of Women Voters linked on the CPUSA website. I know that as much as the LWV think that they are non-partisan, they aren’t. I have read the LWV national positions and they are right out of the democrat party platform and I didn’t see one thing that the Republican platform can claim, except that the LWV says they believe in the Constitution. However, that doesn’t explain the national positions, because they aren’t Constitutional.

I am very partisan myself but then, I don’t claim to be non-partisan. However, I thought that maybe the LWV were on all the party sites and that would explain why the LWV was on the CPUSA site. I looked at the Republican, Libertarian and Green party sites and LWV isn’t on any of them. The LWV isn’t even on several of the smaller parties that I could see. Just the communist party and the Democrat party site.

I have read the party platforms for the Republican, Democrat, Libertarian and Green party platforms and I strongly disagree with the Democrat platform though I do find it similar to the Communist party goals of 1963. In particular I send you the dictionary definition of Socialism... (in short, Communism). The LWV positions promote socialism. I don’t want that for my kid.

When I attended the local position meeting on affordable housing and heard the lady in charge of the meeting quoting Karl Marx “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” and saying this was a Founding Fathers’ quote and what we fought the Revolutionary War about.... I have a BIG problem with that. I just hope she isn’t a school teacher!

I have included some of the articles or website link pages so that you will see what I saw. You each have the right to chose who you associate with, I can’t be a part of your organization. I highly recommend that the LWV continue doing the debates and Voters Guide which are non-partisan activities and STOP the positions if the LWV wishes to keep their non-partisan status.

You should be commended for your diligence. I wonder how many members of the LWV actually took the time to research the positions? I wonder how many Democrats know who Karl Marx is or why Communism continues to fail?

ACTION for Freepers,
1. Please contact the National League of Women Voters and tell them that their work putting
on debates and putting out the voters guide which are non-partisan are OK, but when they take
positions they show their partisanship and they either need to stop the positions or lose their
non-partisan status.

2. Also I think it would be a good idea to write letters to the editor

Do you have any proof that the "Communist Goals" list is not a hoax?

That list of Communist goals was entered into the Congressional record back in 1963 (I believe).

Nothing new here. The LWV has long long been a demonrat leaning organization. About ten years ago they tried to get us to include the democrat in our republican primary candidate's night.

How does that make it true?
According to snopes, either the same or a similar list of "Communist Rules" has been entered into the Congressional Records yet it is still a hoax. From the link:

"...numerous Congressional members received copies of the rules list from alarmed constituents and, believing that nobody else was yet aware of them, continued to insert them into the Congressional Record. "

I have had the exact same experience with another womens organization. The Hadassah Women's Zionist organization is supposed to raise money to promote medical research for medical conditions that effect mainly children and women. They also actively support the Hadassah hospital in Israel which treats so many of the Israeli terror victims along with all the research and development. They are a very strong Pro-Israel organization here in the US. I have no problem with that.
So to my surprise, they actively support democratic candidates who many times attend their events as keynote speakers, They gave some kind of humanitarian award to Hillary Clinton a few years back, and they actively support abortion rights for women among other things. All the while claiming to be a NON-PARTISAN organization. I stopped paying my dues to them and I give directly to the Hadassah hospital in Israel instead.

I certainly agree. Why sell your business and throw away good money when you have a single commie employee? I don't care how good s/he is, if I found out they were giving money or otherwise supporting communist causes, they would be out of a job. Period.

And since the Bat Lady lives in Texas, I am sure she knows Texas is a right-to-work state, which means this person's employment was "at will" and she did not need a reason to terminate.
