I won't be supporting Dean either. Did you see that great story about how Dean got deferred from Vietnam because of a back injury and then spent the next months as a ski bum? Guess his back healed pretty fast, didn't it?

Unfortunately, Bush is as big a traitor as Dean and he will not be getting my support. Of course, I recognized him as a socialist as soon as he slapped conservatives in the face by saying he was a "compassionate" conservative, implying that the rest of us were neanderthals.

I know it's hard to take, but you need to realize that Bush is not conservative, he's a socialist. He's federalized education, increased spending 27% in just 2 years (fastest increase in 40 years), pushed a trillion dollar welfare entitlement to the richest demographic group (medicare drugs), and then this damnable idiocy of signing this bill. Bush deserves to lose because HE SIGNED THIS BILL. Doesn't matter why. Either he is really stupid or he didn't care, but either way, HE SIGNED A BILL LIMITING OUR LIBERTY!

He's got to go. No other solution is adequate.

Regards.

P.S. Read this article I've posted showing what a traitor Bush is. It's from Human Events - an old trustworthy conservative magazine. "Stalwarts Fought Drug Bill 'Til Dawn". Maybe someone can post a link to it for me. It is unbelievably disgusting how Bush told conservatives "if they didn't change their votes the President would IMMEDIATELY INSTRUCT THE HOUSE LEADERSHIP TO PASS THE DEMOCRATIC VERSION OF THE BILL -- WHICH WAS MUCH WORSE!"

Read that last sentence again and try and defend Busch. He disgusts me.

Again, BUSH SIGNED THE BILL -- and he deserves our contempt. No other response is sufficiently strong in my humble opinion. 'Nuff said.

"Just because we vote for Bush, and rally for Bush, doesn't mean we have to talk and behave like zombie yes-men."

Oh, but it does - at least according to many Bush supporters. Republican always good, Democrat always bad. Even if the Republican supports a socialist agenda. Even I with my limited intelligence have figured that out according to the Bush supporters.

Democrat always bad.

Yes, and?

Bush has lowered taxes and fought a war. He also signed the partial birth abortion law. That's it. On the other hand, he's also caused incredible damage to conservatism and this country. This bill is bad. Everyone knew it was bad. The supreme court is liberal so many of us realized that they would not overturn this bill. So either Bush is stupid or he didn't care. Either way, HE SIGNED THIS BILL! He deserves contempt.

Quit pretending that the only alternative to Bush is Dean or Clinton. This is a time-honored, despicable debating trick and unworthy of serious debate.

The better question is "Who should we support now that Bush has shown his true colors again and again?"

I thought a virtue of conservatives was our realism.

And the reality is, Bush has behaved like a Ted Kennedy-liberal on CFR and the Medicare prescription entitlement.

He has demonstrated that 1) he doesn't want the votes of conservative Republicans such as myself, and 2) he doesn't need our votes. He has looked at the upcoming election and decided that passing a trillion dollar entitlement program and restricting free speech in connection with federal elections will win him more votes from the middle-left than he will lose from the right.

Well enough. He won't get our votes.

You didn't read the thread then. It's been posted. Here it is again. " National Review has the quote, in which Will asks, "In which case, would you veto the McCain-Feingold bill, or the Shays-Meehan bill?" and Bush responds, "That's an interesting question. I — I — yes I would. The reason why is two — for one, I think it does respe — res — restrict free speech for individuals. As I understand how the bill was written, I — I - I think there's been two versions of it, but as I understand the first version restricted individuals and/or groups from being able to express their opinion."

Bush deserves our contempt because he signed this bill and shouldn't have. All of the Bush suppporter tap-dancing can't change the fact that Bush failed to use his granted power of veto and broke his oath to defend the Constitution. Go ahead and read some of the lame excuses that Bush and his handlers came up with about how even though it was unconstitutional Bush signed it hoping that the liberal Supreme Court would overturn it. They'll make your stomach turn.

I'm tired of oath-breaking presidents. Bush makes 2 in a row. I'm also tired of all you gambling Busch supporters who keep telling us to "take our chances", or "gamble" on Bush.

I prefer not to gamble away my constitutional rights for a mess of potage, thank you very much!

What's this crap about Bush making "some significant improvements regarding immigration".

Hello, Is anybody home? Ridge and Bush just proposed allowing millions of illegal aliens (potential terrorists) amnesty.

In case you've forgotten (or never knew because the establishment never tells you), no Iraqis crashed planes into our buildings. But illegal aliens did!

This president has lost all his senses and deserves our contempt.

Appreciate your post. California is another conservative debacle. Even with a great conservative, you Bushthinkers snatched defeat from victory and put in a clown who is just as liberal as the last governor. Schwarzer is pro-abortion, anti-gun, and anti-family. How in the world do you guys come up with the reasoning that this is somehow good?

We conservatives had that race won and then Bushheads and RINO's ran this woman-grabbin semi-porno star and rammed him down our throats with the same logic that keeps surrendering more of our freedoms.

No he hasn't been nominating conservatives. Each list he sends includes a few flaming liberals, a large contingent of closet Souter's, and a token conservative who is immediately left on his own by Bush and his handlers. Bush is a socialist.

Yes! I agree. Besides clearing out AlQuida and removing Sadam in a rapid manner and bringing honor back to the White House and honor to our military, what else has he done!(good protest sign?)

Honor? What honor? GW could be the 10th liberal running. No way am I voting for him. He's ruining the whole darn country and has done more damage to the country in 3 years than even Bubba was able to do in 8. GW is a bad joke.

No major links means no major links. There have been a few minor things like Saddam saying he was pleased about 9/11, but there are still no direct links, nor WMD's. Wish there were, but there aren't any major links yet. I pray that will change, but I'm not holding my breath.

Unfortunately, Bush is as big a traitor as Dean

That is a ridiculous statement. Bush is much better for the country than Dean, especially in national security. Bush does need to change some of his policies though. I doubt he will. I wish we had another Republican sometimes. I don't see that until 2008 barring some catastrophe.
