You should quit trying to divide the republican party and go after the democrat party, after all, they are close to going over the cliff and will most certainly be laening over the edge after next November and you and the other fringe groups can give the democrat party the final push and step right in and come up with a catchy name for a new party :-)

I never knew politics could be so dramatic, so serious, yet at times so extremely hilarious or contradictory.

You're may be finding it hilarious again when you have to change your screen name before next November, No Blue States. I believe the incumbent candidate (in this case, President Bush) will be assigned the color BLUE for states won in the election. I'm not totally certain, but just thought I'd give you a friendly sort of heads up. :o)

This thread is out of my league too, by the way.

"Yes, this one. National Review has the quote, in which Will asks, "In which case, would you veto the McCain-Feingold bill, or the Shays-Meehan bill?" and Bush responds, "That's an interesting question. I — I — yes I would. The reason why is two — for one, I think it does respe — res — restrict free speech for individuals. As I understand how the bill was written, I — I - I think there's been two versions of it, but as I understand the first version restricted individuals and/or groups from being able to express their opinion."

Quit muddying the waters by proving the opposition is wrong. You might hurt their feelings. It's no fun to make unsubstantiated and wrong statements with people like you around. Shame on you.

LOL, I even thought to myself "Why in the hell did Veracruz bring up Ross Perot"

Listen bud, I think were on the same side, We just disagree on how this CFR came about and who's to blame. I don't like to get into flame wars for this reason......

Winning a flame war on Free Republic is fun, but is like winning a medal at the special olympics, in the end you're still a retard :-)

I have shown him to be a liberal--or are abortion and affirmative action now conservative beliefs?

You've shown nothing. You made some assertions about Gonzales, with no documentation.

I have an article that lays out Gonzales' rationale in both cases, but I'm going to let you make a fool of yourself before I post it.

As I noted previously if even a "Cross Dressing Dope Smoking Libertarian or Crack Pot Constitutional" or "fool" like me could foresee that a liberal SCOTUS would not over turn this, then what does that make Bush?

And regarding this "gambling" with my Constitution, I don't gamble and neither should the President, in my humble opinion. Regards.

Was there any part of CFR that you agreed with?

And one last question, Did you know that this can be changed as part of another bill, I think there is enough support to reverse this in Congress, even many democrats admitted that the free speech concerns were real, it's just that Fiengold insisted on that portion in exchange for eliminating Union contributions

My nomination for Quote of The Day! (Very un-PC, but perfect!)

Does larger font somehow change your argument? Or just point out that you have no argument? What's it going to take? A 'super duper' majority? 99 Republicans in the Senate? Those of us that are conservative hoped for some change when 'we' won back the Senate. To date, all I've seen is unconstitutional bills passed on a prayer one Republican placed Justice would act conservatively and enough government spending that would make LBJ blush. The point is that the possible nominations slated for SCOTUS replacement are moderate conservatives at best and 10-20 years from now I see no major change in the slant of the Court
