In 1267 you make a correct observation about 53. There are 1214 posts in between and the poster you made that goofy observation has already dug himself deeper and deeper in since then. He still maintains it despite logical and correct posts by many many others making your point as well. You will win the "beating your head againt the wall" award if you go around with him again. LOL

The incumbent re-election rate is already obcenely high, it will get higher, and they will listen less and less to anyone. And that's the point.
To: Congressman Billybob
Are they going to charge and try thousands of people?
If the demoncrats are in power they will. They figure the more Republicans in jail the better.

There is a little-known wrinkle in the FEC law that REQUIRES the ad to run. Whenever a candidate for federal office comes to a broadcast station with an ad and pays to run it, the station MUST run the ad, and cannot censor it in any way.
That's how an ad man named Zimmerman (whom I know) was able to run an ad on the ABC (as I recall) radio network for Barry Commoner, candidate for President, which used the word "bullsh*t" in describing the Republicans and Democrats jointly.
If we gin up such an ad, properly organized and planned, it WILL get run, and it WILL challenge the powers that be. This can be done.

It may be a blessing for the Republican Party, but it is no blessing for the citizens whose freedoms have just been seriously eroded. That's my point. The "citizens" rallied their representitives to support it. The polls overwhelmingly supported it. We're the minority on this issue.

the President swears an oath to uphold the Constitution (NOT his personal "principles"), and I expect him to do just that, or resign Did you scream the same thing when Reagan signed a tax increase in 82.
Or is your above itlaicized passage your chance to show off your inner right wing drama queen side?

The Internet mitigated what big media tried to do. It certainly is a valuable way around Big Media. However, just imagine how much easier things would be with a "Fox Broadcast News" or adding a few more papers like the Washington Times and New York Post.

He had every right to expect that the Justices would actually do their job instead of merely collecting a paycheck on the backs of the people they are so willing to betray. But he had every duty to ensure it never got to SCOTUS if he believed it to be unconstitutional. The system was set up with multiple layers for a reason; so that no less than four bodies could prevent a bad bill/law from continued life.
I now believe that the USSC is no longer an American institution.
Because they approved of this law. Does that standard also apply to the House, Senate and White House, who also approved of it?

Suprising to me. I wouldn't think Zell would have been for it. Fine, take him off the list then.

I am quite interested in Sandra Day O'Connor's apparent reversal of her opinion. I am wondering if she has been threatened. Probably just an Emerson fan: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."

The times, places and manner of holding elections Campaigns and campaigning have nohing to do with holding elections. This is not just a slim reed, it's a non-existent one.

I love your ideas, one problem though is that ratings rule. Conservatives watch very little tv, and only those so inclined to be so would watch. A few would be reached, but very few I'm afraid.
