Freepers sister in life or death situation-Florida-help please!! PRAYER REQUEST

They moved my sister to the ICU unit at Ocala Regional Medical Center yesterday and she is scheduled for surgery today to drain the excessive adominal fluid. The surgery was originally scheduled for yesterday, but she's now developed a URI too.

She is very, very sick and so weak. Any prayers that can mustered up for her would be more than appreciated. Her name is Marilyn and she's 51 years old.

She has a rare spinal cord abscess. Usually, surgery is performed to lance the abscess. But she's not a canidate for surgery because, as a health care professional, she contracted Hepatitis C years ago which has caused extensive liver damage.

I am VERY CONCERNED!!!

This hospital, Doctor or WHO THE HECK ever is taking care of Marilyn has told this family that THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE of LIVER patients.

Her ALBUMIN and Bili's have been elevated.

I suspect her AMMONIA LEVELS are extremely high also.

Marilyn has been hallucinating.

I am sick with worry, as I too am a liver patient.

Marilyn is an RN, who has taken care of patients, and who got this illness from doing just that.

Now in her time of need she can't get proper care. BECAUSE SHE DOESN"T HAVE INSURANCE!!

So they have her on SIX WEEKS OF ANTIBIOTICS. You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. They SHOULD have drained her spinal abcess like Alice (Beach_Babe) already knows.

They SHOULD have been treating her liver disease too.

We NEED HELP. NOW!!!!!!!

I am so worried .. I pray like mad every night. But I am praying for MORE THAN JUST PRAYERS.

I KNOW we need an intelligent ADVOCATE. Be that a LAWYER.. A DOCTOR.. A LIVER SPECIALIST.

SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN.

Alice is an AWESOME SISTER.. who is trying with all her heart to help Marilyn.

This is a daunting experience when you are trying to be a caregiver.

Marilyn is not cognitive right now. She is in the deep stages of Encephalopathy. Alice or another family member needs to be able to help.

I tried to explain Lactulose, and the need for Lasix or it and other diruetics. From the sounds of it all.. Marilyn is perhaps also deeply into Liver disease.

That they say they CANNOT tx her Liver disease is horrifying to me.

WE NEED HELP here..
