Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured today in a quad bike accident in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire estate.
The 55-year-old rock star underwent emergency surgery after he broke his collarbone, six ribs and a vertebra in his neck.
His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, said his publicist Cindy Guagenti.
The operation was intended to lift the collarbone, which was believed to be resting on a major artery and interrupting blood flow to his arm. Surgeons were also trying to stem some bleeding into his lungs, according to the statement.
Osbourne was taking a day off from promoting the UK release of Changes, a duet with his daughter Kelly, when the accident occurred.
Guagentis office said no further information was immediately available. She did not disclose which hospital Osbourne was being treated at.
The Osbournes, the MTV reality show featuring the rocker, wife Sharon and their children, started production about a month ago on its third series.
It was not immediately known how the accident would affect production or how or whether it might be included in the series, an MTV spokeswoman said.
On Saturday, a story on the Los Angeles Times web site reported Osbournes claim that he was overprescribed a variety of powerful anti-psychotic and tranquillising drugs by a Beverly Hills doctor.
Osbourne said he developed a 42-pill per day habit that accounted for his odd behaviour on the hit show, including scenes in which he was seen mumbling, falling and appearing disoriented.
Earlier this month, Osbourne told a British newspaper he was sexually molested as a child and suffered emotional effects from the abuse long into adulthood.

I had mixed feelings about the show at first, but it grew on me. Even with their crude ways, it seemed they really loved each other as a family. I loved the episode when Sharon and Ozzy got invited to a dinner for GW. They were so excited!
Prayers to Ozzy and his family.

I'm not the one to answer that, I probably saw three whole episodes of that train wreck. Of course, I have massive doubts about the reality of any MTV/VH1 reality program. If they treated Mr. Osbourne with anything less than respect, I'll bet it was scripted.

Ironically, there was an episode where Jack and friends were at the English estate and WRECKED quads... no one was shown to be hurt.

Not that I'm advocating, just commenting.Jack probably gave it about as much weight as Oprah giving dieting advice. Oh wait, people do listen to Oprah on dieting advice!

Don't let the cutesy 'I love everyone' act Sharon portrays fool you. She is all business, a shrewd and ruthless manager.
Many bands who have worked with her, loathe her.

He must've been Swinging the Chain before careening Into the Void, and now All Moving Parts Stand Still.
Its such a Wicked World. Hope he doesn't wind up in that Hole in the Sky just because of The Thrill of It All, or he will definitely undergo some Changes.
Never Say Die, Ozzy.

You missed how Jack got hooked on Oxy and had to go into rehab then?
To: Hawkeye's Girl
So it would seem.
I guess that one got in under the radar. Hope it turned out o.k. though, Oxycontin is reported to be a b*tch to kick.

Heartbroken, I am. This talentless ne'er-do-well, strangely the darling of conservative celebrity (could it be because of Jr.?), suffers an accident endured by thousands of ordinary folks every day.
What will I do without a direct line to his gift? Crocodile tears for the oz.
