Ozzy Osbourne was seriously injured today in a quad bike accident in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire estate.
The 55-year-old rock star underwent emergency surgery after he broke his collarbone, six ribs and a vertebra in his neck.
His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, said his publicist Cindy Guagenti.
The operation was intended to lift the collarbone, which was believed to be resting on a major artery and interrupting blood flow to his arm. Surgeons were also trying to stem some bleeding into his lungs, according to the statement.
Osbourne was taking a day off from promoting the UK release of Changes, a duet with his daughter Kelly, when the accident occurred.
Guagentis office said no further information was immediately available. She did not disclose which hospital Osbourne was being treated at.
The Osbournes, the MTV reality show featuring the rocker, wife Sharon and their children, started production about a month ago on its third series.
It was not immediately known how the accident would affect production or how or whether it might be included in the series, an MTV spokeswoman said.
On Saturday, a story on the Los Angeles Times web site reported Osbournes claim that he was overprescribed a variety of powerful anti-psychotic and tranquillising drugs by a Beverly Hills doctor.
Osbourne said he developed a 42-pill per day habit that accounted for his odd behaviour on the hit show, including scenes in which he was seen mumbling, falling and appearing disoriented.
Earlier this month, Osbourne told a British newspaper he was sexually molested as a child and suffered emotional effects from the abuse long into adulthood.

This is the part I thought was something:
"...or how or whether it might be included in the series."-refering to his serious accident.

Osbourne said he developed a 42-pill per day habit that accounted for his odd behaviour on the hit show, including scenes in which he was seen mumbling, falling and appearing disoriented. I didn't find Ozzy's behaviour on his show funny. It was painfully obvious how messed up he was/is.

I thought that the show was funny, but I was an OZZY fan at 13 in 1982!

*L* Yeah he just had a birthday on Dec 3rd.
Crazy though he might be (hell IS), I've been a big fan of his music for many years. Saw him twice in concert when I was in HS. Prayers to him and his family.

I only caught bits and pieces of the show, but wasn't Ozzy like a joke to his family? I kinda feel sorry for the guy. A bunch of laughs at his expense while he was the supporter of the family. At least that was my take on it.
Someone correct me if my quick impression was wrong.
