Nice Post... Touches on some good, some true, and some very debatable points.. I do think that you should consider using my tagline if you are going to continue on this path... :-) Well, you are going to make this forum "fair and balanced" whether others like it or not... And it is definitely one he$$ of an icebreaker to get folks talking... Keep 'em comin'... :-)

Molly is such a fool.

Doesn't she realize her little rant could just as easily be written about her choice in the 2000 election, Weird Al? His daddy connections kept his butt in a safe position as an "journalist" And without his political pull, his prissy, BORING attitude would NEVER have gotten him elected by the people of Tennessee

Or for that matter, JFK. Had it not been for HIS politically connectioned father, who bailed his ass out of the PT 109 fiasco (should have been court-martialed for dereliction of duty, etc.) His father turned that sow's ear into medals for "heroic" actions, thus giving him a platform to run for president.

And her bit@hing about W. surrounding himself with the sons of famous fathers, should we have to remind her Royal Hickness that nepotism ran rampant with Democrats (JFK hired his own inexperienced brother as Attorney General)

Neither she's a typical lying liberal or she's the biggest idiot that ever sat behind a keyboard. (I'm betting both)

Molly Ivins has been a Bush-hater for a very long time. Virtually every columns she has written in the last three years or so has been full of anti-Bush vitriol. She is a blatant partisan and thus her rantings are to be viewed as just more swill from the fanatical left.

I have always wondered how Molly has lived among us all these years yet understands Texas not at all. Were not the major papers in this state as liberal as she is, I wonder what she would do for a living?

Im just athinking that there will come a time when most will just start tuning this hate Bush all the time out.
folks eventually just dont want to hear about it anymore.

then the dim's are left screaming into the void, gnashing their teeth, tearing thier hair out staring wildly into the black hole they have created for themselve's. what a horrible way to live each day.
it's no wonder people are starting to think the dimwit's have gone sucidal. they seem to inhabit a dark, dreary place in their soul's. and with molly's latest ravings here i believe that the whole party is only inches from the ledge.

I heard Molly Ivins speak in 1992. She said that then Sen. Bill Bradley was the most intellectual man in politics. And I was supposed to be impressed????

Summary: "He is neither mean nor stupid" BUT he's an unfair clueless liar who can barely read, hates poor people and has no idea of what's going on in the world.

Thanks for your balanced assessment, Molly.

I do NOT want a leader who know "what it's like to be poor".....I want someone who knows how to help people be NON-POOR

Devil's Advocate says, "So why do we want a president who speaks poorly and plays up his 'Joe Blow' persona, eschewing his entire Ivy league and prep school experience and Greenwich, CT childhood?"

I WANT my president to be smarter than me! I understand the implications of a Yale/Harvard degree have to many Americans, but still, I prefer to have an educated, worldly president. This has always been a thorn in my side WRT Bush. He revels in the fact he never owned a passport and that's he's from a small town in Texas, etc. He should be proud of his education and successes... then again, he did win the presidency, so what the hell do I know. Maybe just cause I live in CT in the belly of the beast, I don't know.

She starts off slow on this one, I suppose to sucker people in, but it turns into the predictable Molly (the Pig) Ivins anti-"shrub" screed.
