He did that this very day on Fox!! When Wallace pressed him on it, his only answer was "Well, some people believe that."

I mean, some people, even on this forum, believe a lot of crap!

Just peeking in here after watching Hill -- does everyone realize that her "got translated badly" thing was a LIE - Hillary was speaking in English, and I bet the interviewer was, too -- all the German press can speak English and no doubt the interviewer chosen to interview Hillary certainly did. They are so proud of their language that OF COURSE they interviewed her in English; I would bet on it. In MANY cases, when famous English-speakers are interviewed on German TV, the entire interview is in English!

So when she said coyly (uggghhh) that she might run next time, it did not get messed up in translation, like she (ever so coyly) said to Timmy.

The woman is EXPECTING to be chosen at the convention. She about said so on the liberal morning show on KABC in L.A. last week. She said something like "She will support whomever the process ends up nominating." I paraphrase but I was surprised that she didn't say she would support "the best candidate for the job" or the "leading candidate" or the "frontrunner" or anything. It sounded like such a carefully crafted phrase that it brought back Al Gore in my mind and his "no controlling legal authority."

Yep. Like it or not, Dean has a certain appeal to people. I think uninformed voters think of him as a "regular guy". And that's the only type of person who could hurt Bush - an outsider (similar to the theme on which Bush ran in 2000). Hillary is so hated, and so obviously political, she will not appeal to an electorate very cynical of politician's motives.

What voters want at the moment is someone who isn't a "slick politician". Bush isn't perceived as slick by most, and only someone who's perceived as even LESS of a politican can be dangerous to him. That means Dean. That absolutely doesn't mean Hillary.

The only problem is--"some" or "they" are never really identified but remain aloof and ethereal.

I'd love to see a Hillary file that we could all use to write editorials, using quotes and policy positions.

She is so extreme that we can use THAT against her.

Today's comments on the shows that the middle is where we all want to end up is crap.

I have a Hillary file started on my computer, but would like to see something more formal on FR that we can ALL use for reference material.

You are correct in your analysis and your call that we adopt a smart strategy to defeat her.

The fact is, she is viewed more benignly by the average person than those of us who follow her slimy trail would like to believe.

Case in point: My sister works so catches a bit of The Today Show in the morning and then Tom Brokaw at night to get an idea of what's going on in the world. She'll ask me for the inside scoop if some story catches her attention and she senses there's more to it.

When HRC returned from Iraq and appeared with Katie Couric the appearance was roundly mocked and dissected here on FR, but when I mentioned Couric's biased approach to the questioning, my sister agreed that Katie did appear to favor Hillary, BUT, she thought HRC was NICE about George W. Bush! My sister is not a Clinton fan and would not vote for her, but that was the impression she was left with.

And. as another noted, her supporters project their needs, wishes, and fantasies on Hillary- they are effectively unswayable.

We have to educate the mushy middle, who usually decides elections.
