Shoppers make their way down Boylston Street in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, December 6, 2003 during the first winter storm of the season. The Boston area expects over one foot of snow and high winds from the storm.

Well here on Long Island I see no end to this storm right now. Doing my best to cope...laptop plugged in, Cablevision are behaving themselves, and lots of coffee in the pot.

It's lucky this is a weekend storm. So much easier that way. This could be a tough winter.

Meanwhile here in beautiful Buffalo, NY the sun is shining and if the NY Jets can get here for the game tomorrow, it will be clear and cold. Just like we like it. No snow on the ground here.
Just had to gloat a little since Buffalo always gets all the bad pub for it's snow. Have fun you over there in the snow you guys.
BTW, Buffalo is NOT "upstate NY", we are in WESTERN NY.
FYI.

Checking in from Holden, Maine (Just outside of Bangor) Wind is picking up pretty good here and snow has started to coat the ground. We've battened down the hatches pretty tight, candles and flashlights are ready...and, oh yeah, we're going out shopping for Christmas decorations in about an hour! I LOVE driving in this stuff when I don't have to work.

Rhode Island reporting in.
Got about 4 inches yesterday evening, about 4 more overnight, and so far about an additional 2 today...with no end in sight.
Power's still on, and the roads are somewhat navigable (is that a word?).
We're staying in though...keeping warm and toasty. Once the snow finally stops, then I'll venture out and shovel.

Checking in from the hills of northern New Jersey. Lots of snow on the ground, and I've decided that plowing the roads is a bad idea -- it makes stupid drivers think they can get around easily.
In a 4x4, getting around in ten inches of snow is easier than trying to cope with people who have no business being on the road at a time like this.
It sure is beautiful out in this neck of the woods, though.
