How The Left Stole Christmas

A student at Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis emailed me to say that a 12-foot decorated Christmas tree disappeared from her school atrium on December 2. Students received an email from the Dean for External Affairs, explaining:

"The tree came down because there were members of the law school community who thought it was divisive and inappropriate. The school will be putting up another holiday decoration to replace it---I think today--if at all possible. There were individuals who believed that the tree sent the wrong message to the law school community and would make some people feel excluded."

Law Professor Florence Wagman Roisman first complained about the tree, telling a local newspaper, "This is unacceptable at a place that presents itself as inclusive of all people." Now, the Indiana University School of Law atrium features a politically correct "Indiana Winter scene" devoid of Christmas-specific symbols. The setting includes fake snow, two small, bare trees, and poinsettia plants.

For university diversity administrators, t'is the season for PC winter celebrations. And, you better watch out, the legal Grinches are coming to town in search of Christmas cheer on public property.

In Tipton, Iowa, the lawn of the Cedar County Courthouse has been decorated with a nativity scene each December for years. But now, the American Civil Liberties Union has filed an official complaint against the county, alleging that the nativity display violates the First Amendment.

Several years ago, the City of Troy, Michigan gave in to similar challenges to its annual Christmas displays. Last week, City Councilman David Lambert introduced a resolution to restore his city's nativity scene, but it failed by a vote of 5 to 2.

Not far from Troy, in Caro, Michigan, Wiccan activists are staging protests against the city's nativity display. Fortunately, when the witches filed a lawsuit last year to have the display dismantled, the case was thrown out.

In Baldwin City, Kansas, it was Santa Claus who was thrown out of an elementary school last week. The ACLU has filed a complaint against the Baldwin City schools for allowing a Santa Claus impersonator to visit young students and share with them the true story of Christmas.

In Elizabeth, Colorado, the ACLU and the Anti-Defamation League are threatening to sue an elementary school if it continues to hold Christmas celebrations. In a letter to school administrators, the ACLU and the ADL demanded that holiday music programs be purged of all Christmas music, including even "Jingle Bells."

Christmas ought to be a time of peace, unity, and joy. It is quickly becoming a time of political correctness, division, and discontent.

Also, Christmas ought to be a celebration of life. In the case of Planned Parenthood, it has become a celebration of death. Last week, the nation's leading practitioner of murder announced that it is selling its infamous "Choice on Earth" holiday cards as it did in 2002.

Planned Parenthood President Gloria Feldt announced, "Planned Parenthood believes in every individual's right to make choices and live in peace with our planet." Besides the central phrase "Choice on Earth," slogans are littered around the front of the card such as "Women's Health," "Freedom," "Equality," and "Religious Rights." This month, Planned Parenthood plans to sell thousands of "Choice on Earth" t-shirts to its supporters.

For the most part, the radical Left has chosen to fight Christmas until it disappears from the calendar. But in the mean time, they are taking advantage of the cultural significance of the holiday to wage political war.

Instead of "Choice on Earth," People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is exploiting Christmas for an anti-factory farm billboard campaign called "Hell on Earth." A second PETA billboard advertisement contains the tagline, "Go Vegetarian - it's an immaculate conception."

The radical Left's war on Christmas is just beginning. The best way we can fight back is by remembering - and observing - what Christmas is truly about. We can't forget that the Son of God was born in the filthy trough of cattle; that there was no room for Him in the inn.

So it shouldn't surprise us that in a nation that has forgotten God, there is no room for Him in the public square.

How sad and true.

I think some people are starting to fight back. I got an EXTREMELY religious Christmas card from my payroll company this year. I'm going to tell the lady that I talk to there I much I liked getting it.

The students at this school should fight back too. They should go caroling, etc.

These godless wonders of the ACLU, etc. will hand us all over into the hands of the Islamofacists cheerfully.

Having sent their children to the secular state's temples (the public schools and universities) for several generations now, Christians are surprised that the worshippers of that state, having gotten a strong foothold in all levels of the educational system, are moving to drive their influence completely out of their domain. Why?

Walgreen's and Taco John have, in the past, used the word "Christmas" in their advertising. This year, I haven't heard any other advertiser doing so. I boycott all businesses that use "Holiday" where the word "Christmas" would make sense. I don't mind referring to Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Year's as "holidays," but I object to "Holiday shopping," "Holiday tree," "Holiday gifts," etc.

The movements of peoples is a zero-sum game. Multiculturalism is a zero-sum game. When one group moves into a physical living space it is necessarily at the moral, cultural, and physical expense of the group already there. The dominant will impose its society on the submissive. These are the central facts that the gutless wonders of modern conservatism will not, dare not, admit.

The best way we can fight back is by remembering - and observing - what Christmas is truly about.
Yeah, that'll show 'em.

One of the most instructive things about this is to take a little "World Tour" over the span of five minutes or so, using the internet. I did this last year and reported back to FR the findings. It confirmed my sad suspicions (and this article gives further proof).

Here's how it works.

Take a little "spin" --over the next few weeks starting from next week-- to the various YAHOO websites around the world. For example, in YAHOO UK, you will see "Happy Christmas" and references to "Christmas" all over the place.

Rumble on over to Yahoo Singapore and you will see NO SHAME IN CHRISTMAS.

Australia, you say? Well, try YAHOO AUSTRALIA. Look at the various links and specials. Christmas is not being hid under a basket.

Can you read Japanese? You will be suprised to see *KURISUMASU* and MERRI KURISUMASU all over the place. Christmas cards. No "Happy Holidays" crud over there. (And this in a country that is a heavy mixture of atheism and Bhuddism!)

YAHOO KOREA is the same. Koreans LOVE CHRISTMAS. And they don't hestitate to talk about it. Christmas cards, Christmas gifts, MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Everywhere and unashamed.

Well, now take a look at the main YAHOO site for the UNITED STATES of AMERICA.

And like me, feel a mixture of sadness, confusion and outright anger and resentment--at what the liberals in our country are getting away with!

I object to "Holiday shopping," "Holiday tree," "Holiday gifts," etc.

Holiday tree makes no sense as no other holiday celebrated at this time of year includes a tree.

Holiday shopping and Holiday gifts on the other hand do make a certain amount of sense as there are other holidays celebrated at this time of year that do include the giving of gifts such as Hanukkah. I would prefer they say "Christmas and other holiday items" to at least give the nod that Christmas is still what the majority celebrates.

You are absolutely right. The historic core of this nation - White, of European stock and Christian, is being dispossessed politically, economically, culturally and religiously. Immigrants are no longer expected to assimilate, in fact, we are expected to accomodate them, as if someone from a third world dung heap is doing us a favor by coming here.

How about this as a story we will never see written;

"How the right gave Christmas away by not voting articles of Impeachment against Judges who misinterpret the First Ammendment and how every Christmas we get these stories (with the subtext 'vote for republicans so this won't continue to happen') to vilify the left while the right escapes all responsibility for their craven complicity in succoring Judicial Tyranny"

The left stole Christmas? How about:

"The Right gave the collectivistic bastards the keys to the people's house, let the people's house go unguarded so the Christ-hating Socialists could pillage the people's house, and the right then cried 'not nice' and 'mean' and screamed 'vote for me, the left is dangerous."

We have to start IGNORING these people. The students should put up their own tree and DARE the admin to take it down. If they do, PUT UP ANOTHER. Let the evil ACLU sue; what jury is going to side with them? Ignore them. Fight the revolution.
