Democratic Slide into Mental Illness Continues
American Digest ^ | 12/5/03 | Gerard Van der leun

As American Digest noted a few days ago in Liberalosis , the mental state of Democrats is deteriorating. Now the worst aspects of the dread disease that kills and cripples millions of Americans this election year has struck the current front runner, Howard Dean.

Dr. Charles Krauthammer runs the diagnosis this monring in The Delusional Dean

Diane Rehm: "Why do you think he [Bush] is suppressing that [Sept. 11] report?"

Howard Dean: "I don't know. There are many theories about it. The most interesting theory that I've heard so far -- which is nothing more than a theory, it can't be proved -- is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis. Now who knows what the real situation is?"
-- "The Diane Rehm Show," NPR, Dec. 1

"It has been 25 years since I discovered a psychiatric syndrome (for the record: "Secondary Mania," Archives of General Psychiatry, November 1978), and in the interim I haven't been looking for new ones. But it's time to don the white coat again. A plague is abroad in the land.

"Bush Derangement Syndrome: the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency -- nay -- the very existence of George W. Bush.

"Now, I cannot testify to Howard Dean's sanity before this campaign, but five terms as governor by a man with no visible tics and no history of involuntary confinement is pretty good evidence of a normal mental status. When he avers, however, that "the most interesting" theory as to why the president is "suppressing" the Sept. 11 report is that Bush knew about Sept. 11 in advance, it's time to check on thorazine supplies.

"When Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga.) first broached this idea before the 2002 primary election, it was considered so nutty it helped make her former representative McKinney. Today the Democratic presidential front-runner professes agnosticism as to whether the president of the United States was tipped off about 9/11 by the Saudis, and it goes unnoticed. The virus is spreading.

"It is, of course, epidemic in New York's Upper West Side and the tonier parts of Los Angeles, where the very sight of the president -- say, smiling while holding a tray of Thanksgiving turkey in a Baghdad mess hall -- caused dozens of cases of apoplexy in otherwise healthy adults. What is worrying epidemiologists about the Dean incident, however, is that heretofore no case had been reported in Vermont, or any other dairy state. "

We don't know where this is leading in the next few weeks, but in the next year it can only lead to confinement of a once proud national party in a small room without any power whatsoever for at least four years.

I noticed this about Dean. He throws out ridiculous claims always with the caveats "it's a theory" and "...it can't be proved". This covers his lies but give people the impression there is an air of legitimacy about it. While we who know the truth look at this and shake our heads it plays very well to those who don't really know. This is the same technique Bill Clinton used and it worked for him.

Did Rehm ask Dean if had really performed all those abortions on young, balck New York City girls and that many expensive, fast, and "no questions asked" abortions for the women from Quebec and whether his concealed records would provide key details?

The animosity is becoming palpable and visceral. In my opinion the hatred has been exacerbated by the very public way in which the seeds the liberals have sown have come to bear bitter fruit.

Welfare reform's obvious successes no doubt bummed 'em out somewhat, then 9-11 exposed their "appease and apologize" foreign policy to be not only wrongheaded, but downright dangerous to our existence. Now we are witnessing the repudiation of their "tax cuts will harm the economy" mantra, in very blatant, in your face fashion.

In short, their hatred is growing in proportion to their fear of losing power, fueled by anger at the revelation of their most sacred tenets as being decidedly untenable politically.

The Left's inablility to accept responsibility for anything requires them to project the blame and the accompanying self-loathing onto some exterior scapegoat, and we all know who that is.

Which is it? If Bush is a simple minded idiot who must be reminded to close his mouth when he breathes, (as the Rats claim) how was he supposed to keep so much information in his poor simple head?

Yes there is a Mad Dem Disease. It is rampant on the DemocraticUnderground web site. Rush mentioned the DU yesterday, It is worth a visit if you need a good laugh. But on a more serious note, take a look at the Registration rules. They will make you shudder!!!

"WHO IS WELCOME ON DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND, AND WHO IS NOT

We welcome Democrats of all stripes, along with other progressives who will work with us to achieve our shared goals.

This is a "big tent" message board. We welcome a wide range of progressive opinion. You will likely encounter many points of view here that you disagree with.

We ban conservative disruptors who are opposed to the broad goals of this website. If you think overall that George W. Bush is doing a swell job, or if you wish to see Republicans win, or if you are generally supportive of conservative ideals, please do not register to post, as you will likely be banned."

Why are they so afraid of a challenge? This is scary.

No, they just don't want to waste their time or resources on conservative "trolls." We do the same thing in reverse.

It's part of defending our constitutional rights of private property, freedom of speech and freedom of association.

The way I see it, the Dems are spitting mad that they are out classed, out smarted, and out played by a "stupid, eeeevil, chimp-looking, know nothing president" almost every single day. It pains them so much they respond with Rage and derangement.

Really? I read your regs concerning posting and I didn't detect any fear of honest debate. You simply counsel respect and courtesy and this is good. If you read their whole registration rules it is pretty clear that they don't want dissent to be posted or their fantasies confronted. BTW I am honored Jim that you responded to my first post! Thanks! God Bless you and this site.

It's "All your ZOT are belong to us." "Base" was singular; "ZOT" must likewise be singular.

We ARE the dissent. Don't want to waste time on liberals. Sorry. If you want to debate them you'll have to do it elsewhere.

And I thought Bush didn't have the gravitas necessary to be privileged to that kind of information.
