Tabloid-Limbaugh Still Owes Sizeable Sum in Cash to Housekeeper For Illegal Pills
The National Enquirer ^ | December 16, 2003 | not listed

I was perusing next week's Enquirer article in question at the grocery store this morning and would appreciate it if someone has the full text.

Perhaps the maid was angry about not being paid for her efforts, since money doesn't seem to be a problem for Rush unless he was hiding the financial transactions from Marta.

As for the "doctor shopping", there were 3 doctors: one his personal physician, who referred him to two different specialists. One ear nose and throat specialist and one bone man. Normal procedure. Hardly doctor shopping.
I did a search and it seems that one of the doctors Rush was seeing, Dr. Lawrence Deziel, has had a previous brush with a "doctor shopping" investigation. I found this article posted on the Bloviator blog site from August of 2002:

In four months, police say, Michael Schlosman got prescriptions for more than 3,200 pills from seven doctors -- far fewer than the 20,000 prescribed for his ex-wife in one year, but enough to get him arrested Monday night on charges of doctor-shopping, drug-trafficking and fraud. Schlosman, 39, of West Palm Beach was with his former wife, Jamie Lea Massey, when she fell into a drug-induced coma on April 8. She died three days later of toxicity from massive doses of painkillers, tranquilizers and sleeping pills that investigators say were prescribed for her by Dr. George Kubski.

The state Department of Health suspended Kubski's license Aug. 5, and West Palm Beach police are conducting a criminal investigation. State Board of Pharmacy investigators also are checking on why pharmacies continued to fill prescriptions for Massey.

Schlosman also was a patient of Kubski's, and Detective Wendy Detter said in a police affidavit that most of the drugs he got in the first four months of last year were prescribed by the West Palm Beach psychiatrist -- 2,300 pills, including 900 doses of the powerful and widely abused painkiller OxyContin. Other addictive drugs listed in the 38 prescriptions for Schlosman included hydrocodone, a narcotic painkiller; oxazepam, a tranquilizer; and Ambien, a sleeping pill.

Detter's affidavit said that while Schlosman was getting large supplies of OxyContin, hydrocodone and Ambien from Kubski, he also sought pain medications from Dr. Morris Shlamowitz of Loxahatchee, Dr. Jay Kuchera and Dr. Lawrence Deziel of Jupiter, and Dr. Craig Lichtblau of Palm Beach Gardens.
"From December 2000 through April 2001, unknowingly, (the doctors) were all treating Schlosman for alleged chronic pain," Detter wrote. Shlamowitz, Kuchera, Deziel and Lichtblau said they would not have treated Schlosman if they had known that he was getting prescriptions for OxyContin and hydrocodone elsewhere, according to the affidavit. Schlosman also got prescriptions for blood pressure medications and potassium pills for a heart condition from other doctors.

I think they are investigating the docs more than Rush at this point

FYI. He did. He talked about it on the show in '93 when Clinton nominees were being flogged on non-payment of SSI.

And who owns that tabloid? Of course, Clintonoids. Stalinist tactics will backfire and destroy everyone who is persuing this witch hunt. Remember that a decent Republican runs Florida. When this has run its course, either these guys give up Clinton and co. or they are fried.

If the housekeeper wants to be paid for fencing illegal substances, wouldn't the housekeeper be in some kind of trouble by now?

Welcome (back?) to Free Republic.

Did you miss the first round of "piling on" when Rush left the air?

Since there is no article linked and no details provided, can this vanity thread be removed from the "news" sidebars?

Try this on for size, the maid knows Rush is hooked, goes our and buys a bunch of them illegaly on her own intending to blackmail Rush into buying them for a price that would leave her sitting pretty. Rush refuses, maid runs to the tabloids outing Rush as being hooked on painkillers, and making up this story about her being his shopper and still being owed money.

Me thinks you might have something here! There's a lot more to this story than meets the eye. You can bet that there's some shady characters behind this trying to damage Rush beyond repair!

Tabloid-Limbaugh Still Owes Sizeable Sum in Cash to Housekeeper For Illegal Pills

This story has gone from the questionable to the absurd.

Either Rush paid this housekeeper to buy drugs, or he didn't.

Are we now to believe Rush bought them through her on credit?

What's next...her lawsuit?

Actually according to ABC and alert clerk sent a memo to the Feds about the US Trust transactions (possibly not knowing who Rush was?)

Or this could all be a politcal withhunt.

ROTFL........

Can you imagine the panic if the left ever thought that was possible......

I'd love to plant a rumor that the "secret shadow gubbermint" that GW and Cheney allegedly setup was done to install Rush as the Supreme Kommander. Leak that to the press and see how much airtime it gets. $5.00 says they'd run it without even checking...... ;-)

LOL this reminds me of a story a little while back in a nearby town. It seems some drug dealers were staying at a local motel and thought the maid had stolen some of their cash....so they called the police.

Woops! Guess who got busted? That's right, the drug dealers.

Ya know, the more I hear about the evolving maid story, the better things look for Rush.

"Tabloid-Limbaugh Still Owes Sizeable Sum in Cash to Housekeeper For Illegal Pills"

Or perhaps the tabloid made the whole thing up without caring what the maid or Limbaugh said or did ? HHmmmm?

So if my friend Rollo suggests that we go rob the local Quicky Mart, and he and I commit the crime, do you think its a valid defense to the criminal charge for me to say "It was all Rollo's idea"? Nope, it's not.

'Cept Rush didn't commit armed robbery, WackyKrap.

And since a "contract" that is illegal cannot be enforced, she had no recourse.
