I was perusing next week's Enquirer article in question at the grocery store this morning and would appreciate it if someone has the full text.
Perhaps the maid was angry about not being paid for her efforts, since money doesn't seem to be a problem for Rush unless he was hiding the financial transactions from Marta.

This would seem to disprove the 'doctor shopping' allegiations since he couldn't even afford to pay the hired help

If he didn't buy them is there still a crime?
If she says he didn't pay for them, how do we know she's really telling the truth? It is, after all, her word against his.

Rush did commit a faux paux today. I wonder who else noticed? He was talking about the Ohio woman who was sentanced for breastfeeding her baby while driving 65mph. The Ohio woman's defense was that her religion required her to do what her husband commanded. Then Rush said something very close to: If that's a legitimate defense, if I were them, I'd tell the judge I liked peyote.
I was surprised by that comment given his recent drug related problems.

If he didn't pay her and she never got him the pills, who's guilty of what?

Try this on for size, the maid knows Rush is hooked, goes our and buys a bunch of them illegaly on her own intending to blackmail Rush into buying them for a price that would leave her sitting pretty. Rush refuses, maid runs to the tabloids outing Rush as being hooked on painkillers, and making up this story about her being his shopper and still being owed money.

If the drugs were illegal, he doesn't legally owe the drug dealer. If she provided illegal drugs, she's a criminal.

I was surprised by that comment given his recent drug related problems. I don't suppose anyone can see a difference between recreational drug use and becoming addicted to a prescription pain killer.
The joke was in reference to religions that get drug use exemptions for their ceremonies.

That is what gets me here, unless this maid is going to be turning state's evidence..she is guilty here! (and could have set up Rush at the same time)
This could also explain the 30-40 bank transactions of $9,990 if the money was being extorted in cash from Rush.

Yeah, ok, thanks for the clarification, (I knew what he was going for). But, do you really think it was a good idea to use that example? Especially with the given conditions?

30-40 transactions under $10,000? Wow! That would certainly send off alarm bells in South Florida.

If he didn't make the SS payments, he's finished.Yes, it is true. He's finished. He'll never be a Supreme Court Justice now.

Kind of like the dumb criminal who called the police to report that someone had stolen theor stash.

Illegal "debts" are not enforceable through legal process, and I suspect that Rush would consider the payment she received from the tabloid to have terminated any "moral" obligation. Also, any money he paid to her at this point might be construed by authorities as a bribe. Fat chance it would happen, given the scrutiny he faces. And even if he offered payment she would be a fool to take it, for the same reason.

I think the US Trust Bank in New York is the one that started the paper trail on Rush about the withdrawals.

Rush said it was 3-4 withdrawals not 30-40 as ABC reported.
Withdrawals made during construction on his house.
Funny ABC came up with that story after Rush outed their reporter Linda Douglas and her ties to Clinton and her story on how Gov. Arnold made statements of admiration for Hitler. She forgot to print the entire quote though which showed the opposite of her story premise.

Well, maybe one thing Rush has going for him is that he lives in a $24 million oceanfront mansion. Can it be argued that it takes a lot of dough on hand to maintain the associated lifestyle?
To: hapc
Glad to see Rush has thick skin... he's going to need it. The liberals will not stop piling on now that they see he's down a little bit from problems in his personal life.
